On page 56 of this article there is reference to testing the Goodyear tires and a quote from Al O. says " There may have even been a run that lifted the front tire off the ground, but you didn't hear that from me ... OK, you did."

It also says that that "Chevrolet Performance engineers clocked off an official 11.93 at 116 mph in a bone-stock automatic ZL1."

Good read, though they buried their actual track results in the little picture commentary, while putting GM's 'Official' numbers in the regular text. Digging a little showed that they were hampered by heat and humidity, and poor 60 ft times....

12.97 @ 109.97 for the M6
13.08 @ 112.06 for the A6

They also say (in another picture caption) that Frank Hawley took the A6 to a 12.1 @ 116 mph first thing in the morning while the air was cool.

Quite a difference....

I missed the little captions until you pointed them out. Cool weather really helps the ZL1. It means I'll have a Dr Jekyll/Mr Hyde of a car here in Vegas...bad ass in the really cold months and slug in the scorching sunny months.

Yes they are very sensitive to Air Quality and temps.

I posted a 12.16 115. with drag radials on a very hot humid day while a friend of mine posted an 11.47 119 on a nice cool dry day both cars Zero Mods other than Drag radials.

I call BS on the above; unless they have video / pics backing up thier claims!!

A lot of professional drivers (like hot rod magazine ) ; have all tried running the ZL1's like they stole it ; with no numbers close to the above or even hint of a mini Willie

I remember seeing the video when they anounced the 11.9 run...but the video showed the car wearing DRs on a nicely prepped track.
