Video of racing at Brainerd International Raceway

I got to run the Donnybrooke 3.1 mile course at BIR the other day, their performance driving school. They let us run in groups for 25 minute sessions (6 sessions in all) and was open to anybody.

The first session I had an instructor ride with me for a few laps to show me the track and how to attack the turns (10 in all). He was very helpful, gave me some good tips. I recorded my second session, and after a couple of warm up laps really started to open her up.

Only problem was getting stuck behind the slower traffic, but I managed to get by them all eventually in one of the three passing zones. I hit 145 in the straightaway!!

The car ran PERFECT. Brakes never faded, engine was consistently strong, engine and trans temp never went past normal, engine oil temp was about 50degrees above normal. I ran with the auto in 'M' and it held its gears through the turns just like it should. Front tires really took a beating though.

I drove a total of 151 miles on the track and was exhausted by the end of the day.

If you are interested in seeing what it was like, this video is of a full 25 minute heat (my second of the day).

No timing.....sorry. I was having enough fun blasting by all the Corvettes, Mustangs and a few Porsches. Throughout the day the only two cars I could not beat were a supercharged Corvette and a twin-turbo BMW M6. But I was dead even with them!!

Update: going by the video, it looks like 2 minutes +/- a few seconds lap time. So if my math is correct, thats 93 mph average speed.
