There is a bunch of us that installed it. Works great. Funny I never closed the baffle yet since I installed it. I thought the drone would be too loud on the highway but actually it is not bad at all.

There is a good thread here.

I agree, the drone isn't bad. I had long tubes and straight pipes on my 4th gen SS, now that was drone! No problems with my m2w.

Unlike the Vette... There is really not much of a difference on the Z since it's open at idle and a lot of other times as well. Just introduces a little drone on the highway. Not worth $89 IMHO.

see my post in the DIY $25 is all it cost to add it. I am not sure it is worth it stock. I did it becaseu i am going to add headers and that may introduce more drone at somepoint.

If you're never planning on closing the baffle, then you can simple pull the fuse which will leave the baffle open all of the time and save the $89.

Yup... my total cost was $20. Have it programmed into my Homelink buttons so no need for remotes.

Then with this car you're going to want headers... Pulling the Fuse doesn't really do that much.

one more though I had if money is more an issue for people than labor you can use that same fuse tap to a toggle switch if you are will to run wires up to the consol.

I used the remote setup that MLEE pointed me too because I just did not feel like running the wires for the $13 it cost to buy the unit.

there is also a way to do a three position switch to force the flapps closed once you have headers or exhaust mods to give you 3 stages of sound so to speak wich I may do once I istall the headers if I decide to go catless.

Works great, and better than pulling fuse, because on a long drive you might want to turn off the drone, cause it is there. Just not too bad.

Exactly my thought. I just wanted the option to close it on the highway. I agree pulling the fuse will work but $89 on a $60k car is not a big deal. The way gas is going it is about a tank of gas. :(

On a second note I am pretty pleased with the exhaust sound of the car. It is loud enough without being annoying and has a good rumble.

Ok you have my attention on this one. I had headers and a cam done to my ZL1 and it sounds great, but I would also like to be able to tone it down some in the neighborhood, or when I want to hear the music in the car. Can you send me a pm about this three position switch, for the mild to wild unit. I was thinking of purchasing the unit with the hopes of it having that ablilty, thanx.

This is something that Andy at ADM is wiring up. It's not sold as a package that he can send out. Exactly what I will do once headers go on.

3 positions are
1) Open all the time
2) Closed all the time
3) Works exactly like factory stock

basically want I was talking about would be just 3 position switch 1st postion would remove voltage (fused pulled basicaly) second position would supply voltage (stock), third position force flaps closed. you would go figure out what actuated the flaps right at the vavles

it will either be 12v or gournd most likely and that leg of the switch will just permanatly close that ciruit. I assume it is 12v that closes the flaps but without verifying that I am making an asumption.

now you could use the the relay in the mild to wild to take the car from stock to forcing the flaps close if say the car was loud enough that you just never wanted it fully open. IE headers, no cats, open flaps would jsut be stupid loud and some might never want the car that loud.

http://www.logisyscomputer.com/views...M04&DID=REMOTE

this relay would let you build you own remote milder to mild to wild ha ha

maybe I should build this up and sell it for poeple who run headers.

Ok sounds good, thx to both of you I will look into this. I still have the cats on, and have a mild cam set up but still at times a bit to much.

It really has no drone on it, even if you just pull the fuse like I did. Still very quiet in the cabin.

I bought the mild to wild but never installed. Having the fuse pulled suits me just fine even on highway. I dont notice a drone but I am coming from my SS with headers and Borla ATAK

I may sell my mild to wild

Homelink has a learn function (check the manual). Take the M2W remote fob and hold it hear the homelink buttons and follow the manual steps. Note: it will take up 2 buttons. One for off and one for on, leaving you only one for your garage door.

For those that have just pulled the fuse and say there's no drone, you have no way of comparing since it's in one mode all the time. If it doesn't bother you then great, but if you have the remote and can switch back and forth you definitely hear the drone go away.

Many times when I'm on the highway I forget which mode I'm in and I really can't tell until I hit the on/off buttons a couple of times to hear it. It's definitely nice to turn it off on a long cruise.

Mine came today. I was installing it when I realized I didn't have any two way tape to mount the box. So I just pulled the fuse for now until I get some two way tape.
