I got my ZL1 front, mirrors, inner door handles, gills and an area buy my trunk done 4 months ago when I got the car. Also got my window tint done at the same time. 3M.......cost me 550 bucks. Well worth the money to save on chips. I had my wifes SS front end painted twice and then said no more. Got her a clear bra and no worries now. Just keep it waxed up and it will look good for a long time.

I think thats a smart idea about protecting the inner door handles , I'm thinking of filming that area as well.

X-pel self healing for scratches and minor dings.

Headlights, running lights, front end, forward 1/3 of hood and fenders, mirrors, pillars
inner key area, gills and rear bumper area immediately below the trunk lid...$650.

I just paid $900 to get Avery Nanofusion applied to the front facia, the mirrors, and the gills. Had the same thing on my 2011 Vert and loved it.

This is on my list of things to do along with a tint. Good thing the house is now paid off and the kids are almost done with college! Time to have some fun.

I went with the X-Pel as well. A 10 warranty and it is self healing.

The clear bra installer told me (for my 2011 Vert) that the mirrors and the gill area are two locations very prone to paint chipping.

There was aloso one price for the front facia itself, and an additional price ($200) to cover the chin spoiler, but since the chin spoiler isn't actually painted, we chose not to cover it.

The gills are a must on the Camaro. They will get a lot of damage fro mthe front tires throwing rocks down the side of the car.

I have head great success with the XPEL product. I did the front, 24" up the hood, mirrors rear gills, and lights. I need to go back and have the door handles taken care of. XPEL has a great website for patterns. Oddly enough, they do not have a pre cut section for the rear gills or door handles... but that is easy enough to fabricate. I have also heard great things about the Avery nanofusion, but no one close enough for me to check out.

I have a question about anyone who has gotten and has had a clear bra installed for a while now!! Do you eventually develop a "dirt line" where the clear bra ends? For instance do you get this line if you only go half way up the door to protect the lower half? If so, how do you go about treating it and getting it off?

I'm also curious about this as I'm considering having it done.

No, you will not get a dirt line there. If you use a paste wax and are not careful you can get buildup along the line.... but you simply take an old soft bristle tooth brush and lightly brush down it with some detailer.

I'm actually getting my entire car clear bra'ed and the mid hood vents, lip spoiler, side skirt, and rear difusser matte black wraped. All lights will be protected as well. She will be putting on 3M Venture Shield. And also getting 3M Crystalline tints on all windows including wind shield and sunroof. I will post pics after it's all finished!! Should be done by Wednesday!! Having had a black car before.. I had to protect this baby first thing first!

I highly recommend getting it done
I wish that I did I'm not sure what it is with the paint on these cars but I only have 4,000 Km's on my car and I have more stone chips on the front end than my 3 year old pick up I know there is more paint exposed on the front of my car but really.....
I will get the paint chips fixed over the winter and have one installed in the spring.

On the gill area, do they have to make cut-outs for each of the slots?
