Extended Warranty

Signing final docs tonight and picking up. Last night when making the deal the dealer prestent me with an extended warranty option. 7/75000mi zero deductible and regular maintenance included free with zero deductible. Wants $3200 for it, what do you think here? Is it worth it?

Is this through Chevrolet directly or a third party?

I got my "extended warranty" and have only used it once for a blown speaker in three years i dont think it is usually worth it also this prevents some modding in most cases i believe..

Extended warranty is always a bad option. Period. Put the $3200 in the bank and save it for a rainy day.

Extended service contracts are only a waste of time when you have the money in the bank to pay for repairs! Some people would be put in a bind to pay car note plus other bills and make a costly repair. Stay with manufacuters extended if possible or atleast do your research on the aftermarket ones and what they cover.
The mentality of put it in the bank only works if you have "IT" to put in the bank

That seems high.

ISTR that on my 2011 Vert, I opted for 5yr/100k and it was around $1500 with I believe $0 deductable.

But then again it did not include free regular maintenance.

Agreed. However, at a percentage of initial vehicle cost it's reasonable. For example, I passed on my warranty for a TV I recently purchased 3000.00 TV 495.00 for a 5 year warranty. At 16.5% of value I always pass and self insure. If however you can get a time and millage appropriate warranty (I would demand a GM product) for 5% of value or even less I would jump on it. If you go online and do some research you will find a Chevrolet Dealer willing to sell it cost effectively. Take that info with you when you go and sign your paperwork, I’m sure the finance and insurance manager will be flexible.
Best of luck with the outcome. You will no doubt love the ZL1.

7 YR / 84K $1399 (GM Plan). Bumper to bumper. $100 ded. Worth the little investment for the high tech covered! IMHO.

Check with Becky@RodgersChevrolet, send her a PM, for a price for warranty. You will also want to look into a wheel and tire package. The two are seperate from each other. I paid like 1215 for seven years bumper to bumper, GM major guard with 0 deductable, warranty and like 450 for the wheel and tire warranty. Check the price of tires and or wheels and one of them will more than pay for the wheel and tire warranty. I had talked to her about maintenance plans and warranty and she only recommended warranty, she said it's a must with this car. I've seen on here where the brake calipers themselves are 1700. She won't sell you anything you don't need. She is totally trustworthy. You do not have to purchase the warranty from your dealer, nor when you actually purchase the vehicle. So you can actually wait and think about it some more if you want. Your best bet will be Becky, that's what I did and my dealer is in Lancaster, PA.

If you are thinking about it just check with Becky, it's not too late. She said you can get it all the way up to when your warranty expires with no hassle.

I passed, there are reasons why they offer them, because in most cases, they make money on them.
