Any mod friendly dealers in north Texas?

I was just wondering if there are any dealers you guys know of that will still do warranty work with things like headers and a tune?

I was just curious because I want to do headers, but I can't viod my warranty.
Please don't tell me that I gotta pay to play. I realize. But you don't always have to pay in giving up all hope of repair should something happen.

Try Van Chevrolet. They are a very mod friendly dealer, so long as they are the ones doing the install.

Thanks! Do they charge and arm, leg, and all three of my brothers to do the install? Lol
The reason I say that is because my dealer wanted $1200 to install leather seats not including the price of the covers! Needless to say I can't afford that.

Not sure I haven't had anything done by them yet... but they said that they maintain the warranty on anything that they install. Send him a PM and he will be able to give you an estimate on what it's going to cost you. Last I saw he had posted in the thread about wheel repair in the texas section.

No dealer can void your warranty over headers or exhaust. They can deny it with a tune. GM will deny any powertrain work with a tune regardless who does the tune, dealer or not. Now if the dealer will continue to work on your car if they have tuned it, then that's another thing altogether. As far as GM is concerned, the moment the computer has been altered, you have voided your powertrain warranty.

P.S. This is straight from GM.

This is Vary True And thanks for Letting people know. As far as we are concerned we embarrassed the fact that lot's of camaro owners want to mod there cars and we would like the opportunism to allow them to do as such. But as both of us know GM does not stand behind this and that is why we offer a Mod friendly dealership.

Props to you guys for stepping up for sure! It's just important for the everyone to know the facts surrounding modding. I would hate for someone to get the wrong idea about tuning.

I know you have to tune to void warranty, but you also have to tune to put headers on /:

The folks at Van Chevrolet do great work. They have done paint, cat back exhaust, cai, and tuned my car. As soon as I get brave enough to throw down some more cash they will be doing my headers and a re-tune as well. If you want to keep the warranty you can't go wrong with Dave and the team at Van.

Van, do you allow for reputable shops to do the tune?

Shops like ADM, LG, whiteside etc?

I can attest that the guys at Van Chevy are FANTASTIC!! When I bought my car I was happy that mods wouldn't void my warranty, but when I started reading on this forum about all the voided warranties, I became VERY concerned. Van Chevy had already put on a CAI, Borla Catback ATAK, and a tune. The last thing I wanted to find out was that the warranty was voided!! I went in and talked to Dave and Greg. They put my mind at ease when they introduced me to the GM who confirmed what Dave and Greg had been telling me. They are DEFINITELY a mod-friendly dealership; apparently, the only one around. To find proof of this, stop by their showroom sometime and take a gander at the monster sitting on the floor!

Yes van is awesome. They have their own performance shop. So long as you have work done at a reputable shop.

Ya gotta tune to adjust the speedometer if you have 1LE 3.91 gears installed. That doesn't void the warranty.

I called Van Chevy and they told me that they did not do custom tunes for long tube headers. Anyone I should ask for in particular?

I don't know that I would trust them even if they did. The tune is not something you want just anyone to do. Look at have ADM Performance do your tune. They are only about 10 min from Van.
