The Excitement Builds + Good Insurance Deal

Collection day confirmed as 4th October for my new baby !
Feeling like a kid on the lead up to Christmas !

If anyone is interested, got it insured for ... £260.30 with Admiral !!! No additional alarms, immobilizers or tracker required - just as it comes ! There are some benefits in being less youthful.

It would have been £360 but I got a multi car discount against the first car (the others get included as their current policies expire). An incredible deal which I reckon will save me more than 50% on my current total for 4 vehicles.

WOW! Have you read the fine print?
Is that Fully Comp? on a £40k Car?
Sorry to be negative but sounds too good to be true and I say this kind concerns.

Yep. Certificate of Insurance, Motor Policy Schedule, Motor Proposal Confirmation downloaded and saved for each vehicle and all is in order. Comprehensive, SDP, Protected NCD, Drive Other vehicles 3rd Party, Windscreen Replacement, £100,00 Legal Expenses, European Cover not exceeding 30 Consecutive Days, Excess £310, Partner a Named Driver, neither of us have points or fault accident in last 5 years.

I'm a big believer in if it sounds too good to be true it probably is but in this case ....

Holy crap! James.....900 quid!!! I'm with Adrian Flux too, as well as being 50 this year, and I hope that my premium isn't quoted that high. Last year I paid just shy of £500, with 3 points for speeding, and a claim for stuffing a Mustang into a ditch. If it's over 600 I'll be shopping around pretty damned quick. I hope you get a better deal too.
All the best. Tim

Is Leeds a high risk area ? I'm fortunate that Boston, and Lincs in general is rated pretty low, so I wait with baited breath.....

I still don't know why mine was as cheap as it is but I'm certainly not complaining. Maybe it's the multi car bit or because I'm that teeny weeny bit older. My Admiral quote came from Go Compare which I assume you've used.

I just checked "go compare", out of curiosity, and the cheapest quote given was: £788.74!!!! That's in a locked garage, for social+ 1 place of work, 6000 mile limit, £500 excess, 1 speeding ticket. My last claim is over 5 years ago, so doesn't count. We also have four cars, but I have two of them on classic policies, costing £160 for the two, so I'm happy with those.

Rick, you did well old chap.

Still might be worth getting a multi car quote from Admiral. I really don't have any other answer as to why (although thinking about it my original Go Compare and subsequently Admiral was for just the Camaro - £360 less £100 for it being the first vehicle in the multi car).

Hey - the "old chap" bit, I'm only 28, no wait, that's in my head not my body :-)

LOL! Yes it's a Ferrari, and a Porsche. If we could get insurance as cheap, we'd all be flying around in Ferraris.

Looks like I'll save £1400 with Admiral Multi-Car :-O across the house-hold fleet of oldies and youngy peoples. Camaro, Zafira, Golf.
Gonna phone to check ...
P.S. my Porsche has gone too ... tell the truth ... it never arrived :-O :-O Ha Ha

Well ... end of Story;
1/ Admiral know **** when it comes to imports or Mods, and getting them fully replaced if it comes to it.
2/ Adrian Flux took every detail, photo, receipt ... for my £8k of Mods and will have it all replaced, + the Car of course, just as it is now, exactly! And include anything new in the next year (within reason, i.e: VDI doors OK, Nitro Turbo not OK).
3/ I do live in a DMZ it seems, as far as insurance goes.
4/ Wife added to insurance made no difference.
Total this year, fully comp, exact rebuild replacement inc all Mods: £805
