Black Wheel Maintenance

I have a set of wheels I'm going to get painted. I know everyone says to get them powdercoated but my uncles friend said he would do it for free while painting a bumper I bought so I'm going to take him up on it. Either way, I wanted your guys experiences with mainting black wheels looking good. I'm either going to paint them black or cgm. Don't know which yet.

Somebody told me to plastidip. Any experience with that? I'm afraid to try it

I have plastidip on mine. I like it. If you mess up you can just remove it and try again. I'm just painting because I think I might like a less matte look. As well as I'm tired of being so gentle with them when cleaning them

if you have stock brake pads better upgrade them... cause once you go with a gloss black it only takes about a 5 min drive to have them covered in brake dust.... but I have had both painted and powdercoated with different vehicles... and plastidip as well.... powercoating being the strongest and easy to wax..... painted same look just easier to chip... you gotta remember alot of rocks and shit flying around down there.... and well ya know about plastidip

Well I have the v6 brakes so brake dust isn't as bad as the SS ones. What were your impressions using paint?

If black, I'd like a semi gloss one. Not a super glossy but not matte either.

I have the semi-gloss replica 20x9's and I wash them and then I use Dr Beasley's stuff for matte black paint.
