I will be there with my ZL1. Have you ridden with LAPS before?

I'd love to come. What do I need to bring? How much is the cost for the day? The last time I was there was for a Porsche driving event it was a fantastic experience but everything was taken care of. Let me know.

Should move to Cali, tracks open all year and much cheaper. $150 for a full day at Buttonwillow.

See you there; I will be in a black ZL-1. I am planning on bringing a cooler with some drinks and my toolbox (primarily for the torque wrench to check the lug nuts).

I assume I will not chew through a set of brake pads, but I wanted to see if you had any issue with the brakes. If so, I can swing by the dealer tomorrow morning and grab a set of pads.

I have been to 5 HPDE days and still have no probs with OEM brakes, did change fluid (Super Blue) intially. Also notice that as I get better at driving, I tend to go easier on brakes. Your first day out will probably be the worst day on your brakes. Dont forget to burnish them as instructed in the manual.

Great advice, thank you very much. I also watched the "burnishing" video on the site.

Watch out, it is the most addicting hobby you will likely ever participate in. Have fun and be safe. One piece of advice, get a Gopro camera with suction cup for windshield. You will want to watch yourself over and over until the next track day. It is also awesome to see the improvement each track day makes!

I have a GoPro and can't stand it. It's been stuffed in some random box for 3-4 years now. Unless it's on the interior of the car it's f*cking pointless. The wind noise makes it impossible to hear the car(s) once over 30-40MPH and IMO ruins the whole experience of watching the video.
They advertise is so well though. The commercials make it seem like you can hear someone fart that's riding a dirt bike with a GoPro on his helmet. Such false advertising!
My dog got ahold of the lil white rubber "seal" for the case and it's ruined so that's mainly why I don't use it at ALL anymore.

Ahh 62 should make for an awesome track day. Every single one of my five sessions has been near 100, however, I'm going to Buttonwillow next weekend and should be low 70's which will be a totally different experience I am sure. Have a good time.

Cool weather grip? Go easy on your out lap and sneak up on it on the first lap or two after that.
