Looks like you guys either need to stop dropping nails in your yard, or stop driving near construction zones…

I've gotten screws in my SS tire and it was all because I dropped a couple of screws….

At 250 miles, my dad noticed the right rear tire was low. After further inspection, he found a screw in the tread near the sidewall. Ended up buying a new tire. At 250 miles. Grrr.
I am keeping the tire. I think I'll hang it on the wall of my man cave and use it to keep my wallet and keys in. That, or use it as a conversational piece on my coffee table...

Ok man you cursed me,,,,, I went out today to take my Saturday Cruise around South Florida and my TPS told me there was only 16psi in my left rear. I figure you owe me a new tire,,,lol. Can you plug a tire like this, or is it an automatic
replacement.

They get expensive... i had less than 100 miles on mine and picked up a screw in the l/r side wall. I was lucky and picked my tire up for 350.

...I swear, every time I get a set of new tires on a ride a screw or nail gets picked up...I feel your pain brother. It never happens to me with a factory set however, go figure...

Guess nobody knows if you can plug it. I plug everything from heavy haulers for high way use to wheel barrel tires. I dont see why the hell not, maybe not legal for some tracks, but good enough to roll the family down I-5 at 80 MPH...

I normally patch tires which works better than a plug for street tires, but I'm probably going to buy a new tire since the car will eventually see track use.

On a different note; has anyone noticed how loud these tires are? They really generate a lot of road noise which is typical for Goodyear tires, but these are loud.

This is the reason I put a three year rim and tire warranty on my car. $400 to cover both rims and tires. (They will patch only if the nail is in the center third of the tread. Other than that the tire is replaced.) One nail and it pays for itself. One pothole and I am ahead of the game. I checked too. I covers the car so when this set of tires wear out the new ones will be covered.

BTW The ZL1 cost is the same as an SS. The same warranty on a corvette is $900. Go figure.

Hmmmm.....very strange, I had a nail in a rear tire within the first 200 miles from the dealer. 2 weeks after I got it I had to leave it at the shop for a week waiting for a new tire.

Conspiracy?

Not even out of 3rd gear yet. Get a new tire. Performance car needs performance tread.

Proper radial patch and your good to go. No need for a new tire. If you guys don't want your nailed/screwed tires I'll take em...

Me too, I would be happy to take them off their hands. Ridiculous at least to me anyway to buy a new tire due to a nail. I have them patched on truck tires and haul and carry heavy loads with the family with the trailer or firewood whatever. NEVER had a problem with a patch. If a patch fails, which I have never had happen, my guess is you lose air again. Big deal, this inst a repaired blow out we are talking about.

I think you guys getting rid of tires for nails could easily sell them for cheap on here.
