Ran a 11.77 at 118mph today, stock

I went to the track today to try and beat my 11.98. I smashed it! I ran a 11.77 at 118.67 mph. 60 foot was 1.79. Yes, I am all stock with stock tires, automatic. Nothing has been done to the car. Temp was 66.9 degrees and humidty was 66%. The key is to have the engine temps cool and shut off all the nannies and roll into the gas. You can't just punch it on street tires or you will just spin. Track prep was excellent. They had a big event there last night so there was still good rubber down. Engine temp was 145 degrees when I pulled down to the line. I made sure there were no cars at the line when I drove down there. So I was able to go immediately to the tree. Did a short burn out to get the water off the tires (22psi), the engine temp when I got the green light was 165 degrees. This car has plenty of power if you can keep the temps low. For those wondering BERT is a 2012 VIN #172 and has 5,347 miles on him. A friend got a video on his phone I will try to get it up on here if I can.

something tells me we will be seeing a lot more 11's soon, since the air is getting a lot cooler, which helps any car, but REALLY helps supercharged cars.

Getting faster and faster!.. i really thought 11.7's were gonna be as good as it gets on stock tires.. but I'm thinking 11.5 is very possible with lower humidity.

I think it is. I have not seen a post with a faster time for a Stock ZL1 on Stock tires.

that mustang actually went pretty damn fast. i wonder what kind of FI and engine they were running.

that person must have sunk some decent money in that stang to get that kind of power, only to still get beat by a stock camaro, even if it is a ZL1.

He had some kind of super charger on it. When I cranked up I saw him run to his car so I know he wanted to race me. He probable wont make that mistake again. LOL

Good run..... I guess the 5th Gen ZL1 is only going to be impressive with much cooler air in the fall/early spring..... No bragging rights in the summer for you guys, lol.......

Now, I feel like I need to pull foot from mouth about one of my earlier posts about GM's claim of stock 11.43 run on pure stock being far fetched ..............

Kudos for your run and I can see it now, stock runs as CLAIMED.....................

You have to "re-phrase" the 11sec run claim..... 11sec runs only when it's cool outside, sub-70 degree days, only..... 11sec runs are possible from late September to early May.... make sure you mention that bit of info....

I dont think so. Now that I have figured this car out I will show you next
June, July, and August that 11's are very possible. Others will figure it out also and run in the 11's in summer months. Still Stock

Finally someone who can drive! I've been preaching that you have to roll into the throttle on these cars. Did you know that in a lot of instances if you nail it from a dead, it'll pull timing for a couple seconds. That's right, seconds. I learned this from a buddy of mine that's done numerous data logs.
