Hellion twins? 2SS? Why would you want to do that? Trade in that is?

i had a 2011 ss/rs moded out.600 hp.i loved that car.it burned up in 15 min.lol pics are on the vin.forum i now have a ZL1.i love the ZL1 but for me i would of not gave up my 2011 for a ZL1.maybe to have both.the ZL1 is a amazing car.bottom line do what will make you happy.if you want a ZL1 i would wait untill some of the issues have been worked out which they will.i would say each time you drive the car it puts a smile on your face.so did my ss.if you are happy with your car, keep it.if you want a ZL1 trade your ss.in on a ZL1 and never look back.lol

Exactly like you said, the ZL1 has been stuck in my head since I first saw a picture of one, I can't wait to have a ZL1 in my garage.

To be honest: after two months of ownership and only 700 miles on her, I am ready to part with my ZL1. Maybe I'm getting too old, I don't know, but I'm just not feeling it anymore. My 400HP '68 Plymouth RR brings me more joy as it currently sits than the ZL1 does and it's a work in progress............LOL!

My tentative plan right now is to garage it (don't put miles on her) and trade it in for a C7. I traded out of my C6 for the ZL1 and regretting it more everyday. I know your asking about an SS vice a ZL1, but if your car is putting down over 600rwhp, why bother? IMHO; the ZL1 is too underpowered for the cost and it does have issues. My car has a mysterious metal clanking sound coming from the underside, just below the center console, that can't be isolated. Darn it!

Who knows what things may come!

OP I'm in the same boat. Thinking of trading my 2010 SS for a ZL-1. My 2010 is not boosted, so I don't know if I'd rather put an SLP on it, or get a Z and be done. Decisions...decisions.

Must be nice! Haha All of you wanting to upgrade from a 2ss to zl1. I drive a 1lt and after a year and half I am still in love with it. Of course it would be nice to own a Zl1 but right now in my life its not worth it.

I say drive your 2ss to the dealership...drive the Zl1 and drive your 2ss again. See which one gives you that feeling you are looking for. Your heart will tell you were to go from there... Good luck and keep us posted

You will never get good money out of a modded car on a trade. Most dealers take value away for that. You have to either put the car back to stock, sell the parts(still at a huge loss) or find someone that wants a modded car like yours and is willing to pay to have a car already done.

Curious minds want to know what you have in it? If you don't mind?

I would say if your going to a dealer, delete all the mods and see what trade in is on a stock camaro with your year, miles and OEM options. That's your cost.

Wow! I will say you're better off with what you have but if you added some of those mods to a ZL1 you would have a real street brawler.......just sayin!

I love my HEAVELY moded 2SS/RS! I would NEVER trade her in for a ZL1! I think some people get caught up in the gotta have the newest thing syndrome. Just wait till the convertable ZL1 is out at all the dealerships....everyone will be wanting to trade in their coupe for THAT! My 10 year old says she wants my camaro when she is old enough to drive (She has Camaro on the brain like her dad) then and only then will i even CONSIDER unleashing the keys to my baby!

Only you can make yourself happy, go with what you want. If that is the ZL1, then go for it!

I'd you alaredy have a 2010, I'd wait until the 6th gen comes out. I doubt I'd give a $30k+ difference in trade just to have a car that you'd probably want to mod after being used to a modded and faster car.

How would the same mods make a ZL1 a "real" street brawler? He has the engine work done to the SS already. The only thing you would really GAIN with the trade would be a better balanced suspension and the prestige of having a shiny ZL1 badge on it. To me...that's not worth $30,000 plus the insurance difference. I would just put a better suspension on that SS! Then, it would be BETTER than a ZL1.

Trade it now before you think it through too long. Impulse buying gets you everything you ever want right now.

I doubt you would be happy with a ZL1 in stock form. Also, you'd have to either sell your car or part it out and then trade. They wouldn't give you what it's worth with the mods.

Best clean 'manheim' wholesale value on the OP's 2010 2SS/RS would be? Assuming say 10-12k miles/year.
