I was OCD about my SS when I first bought it. Then when I moved to Florida, I had to drive it daily and it sat outside for 6 months. I had to let go of "OMG I have a tiny scratch from the towel or a drop of rain". And the crazy thing was I enjoyed the car more once I stopped all the OCD behavior.

My ZL1 is first and foremost a car. It is my daily driver. Heck pulling out of the dealership it started raining. Not a sprinkle but a down pour. Then it rained every day for a week and a half. Car drives fine in the rain BTW. I did wash it the first dry day. Also I still park away from other cars if I can.

Enjoy the car whichever way works for you. For me it is to drive it.

Those who drive their ZL1 daily can certainly have as much pride in ownership of it as those who treat their ZL1 as a garage queen. But those who plan on keeping their ZL1 until they die certainly have way more pride in ownership than those for whom it is planned as just a temporary possession.

There's nothing wrong with being obsessed with "something".

For some people it might be towards a car, but for others, it could be their wife, their kids, family, their dog.......and their stupid i-phone 5.

Obsessing about a fast car is completely respectable.

I like to think that my car is made of sugar and if it gets hit with too much water it will desolve

So Im on the highway about 4 miles from home and the drops start hitting the windshield! Now keep in mind Im the person who had a hard time putting a hose to the car for the first time LOL. As the drops started to fall so did my right foot, I was hitting the garage door opener button about a mile away from the house. I got her home before the pavement got wet and had minimal water drops to towel off! I know little much but i figure some of you would get a laugh out of my little story........ Im ready to be made fun of
Any way I hope all of you are enjoying your Z's and I hope anyone still waiting is getting close!
This was definitely interesting to read, however, it is good to know that you take pride in your Camaro and want to keep it in great condition!
