Won't be long now. Have you decided on a color to paint it?

Fedex tracking now shows my delivery won't be until the 8th :(, although did just receive my painted GFX kit and the Oracle led tinted reverse lights ...I've recently decided to paint my insert same color of vehicle.. crystal red tintcoat. Probably a few weeks away from being done and posting pics.

Due to the fact I live in south Alaska (Seattle) it is still due to me on the 10th...

But I'm alright with that

As for the color... I'm thinking two tone black Satin/Gloss like the Blue Hot Wheels Edition. I need to play around with it and see what I can come up with first. If I can't do it the way I want, I'll seek professional help

Went to dinner this evening with my son and his wife, as we were leaving a guy walking by gave us a big grin and two thumbs up. I think he liked it....my son wants to get one for his SS convertible as soon as he can get his tax refund.... I guess I will get to install another one this spring.

My new template arrived yesterday so today was D-day. I ended up making a second template and actually did two hoods.

I used my factory hood as my test hood as it had rock chips on it and a scratch so I figured test out on this hood before cutting a new black hood

The 1st hood (test hood) all went well so if someone in Orlando wants to do this mod I have a hood that is cut and ready to go you just need to have it painted to match your factory color.

Now on to the new hood see the pics below for the complete start to finish.

I have the optional ZL1 water defector on in the last 2 photos as you can see. I am not sure if I will have any clearance issues I do not believe so but I will test it out this week.

The very last photo is my test hood that is available to anyone in Florida that wants to come pick it up it's all set for this insert it just needs to be painted cost is $100.

Next up is to get the insert painted this week and take her out for her 1st car show next weekend.

Nope it's supposed to be like that the end of the insert has a lip that comes down and butts up to the back of the hood. The actual ZL1 insert sticks out like that as well.

Thanks, I was nervous about making the cut and how hard the install would be but other than dropping one nut and one bolt it all came out the way I hoped it would. It was easier than I expected too.

Simply email us your pictures, if we use them, we'll give you a coupon to our store.

We are collecting images of our parts, we'll be posting one picture of each color.

Obviously so far we have

I've been waiting for you to install yours so I can judge how its gonna look on a black camaro. Can't wait to see it installed all the way on your car. It will give me a good idea what mine will look like! Good job on the install. Looks like a real clean job!

Wednesday or Thursday at the latest insert is being painted "satin black" I decided not to go AGM this time since I am changing out my ZL1 wheels to black ZL1 wheels (OEM or Replica)

Nice, that's how I will do mine (satin black) if I go through with this. Wish I was closer to you, I would buy your "test" hood from you.

Once you get past the first cut its easy... With the template it is really hard to screw it up.
