Exactly it's all about the prep and DO NOT rush yourself.

Piece of cake on the rest.

Sure will! I know there's at least three or four more products of yours on my list!

I'll just my canon instead of my phone for those.

Now it is time to play with the paint design...

I have finally been able to install the insert I just picked it up from the paint shop today. I had them do a satin black that did not turn out good they had too much gloss in it, they said they would re-paint it I said shoot it AGM (Ashen Gray Metallic), the vents are on, and the ZL1 water deflector is on (just waiting for it to dry overnight so I can get better photos. Just a FYI this does fit no issues w/ my V6 engine cover, and K&N CAI.

I will post better photos tomorrow but I do Love the insert.

Car color: Black, Insert color Ashen Gray Metallic

I was gonna say, I don't think those flash pictures are doing the insert justice. I'm considering AGM too. Did the shop paint the vents and the ZL1 water deflector? Great to hear about no fitment issues. I wonder if it's the same for the LFX. Also wondering if the ZL1 water drain will direct water towards my Injen long tube CAI.

No I did not have them paint the vents I left the the black, and the deflector is the black color as well. I might have the deflector hydro dipped soon. It will send the water towards the passenger side, if you add the GM drain channel it will funnel it to the right and left side of the radiator.

The temperature got up to 70 today so I thought i would finish my insert installation up by putting on the adheasive, and then painting under the hood. I also added a couple emblems to the water deflector.

The ZL1s don't have the hood insulation right? Any point in keeping them now that there's the hood insert to help with the heat?

The insulation is more for sound absorption than heat. I like the look better than bare metal too.
