hi everyone,
so this friday, april 19th, I got my hood insert installed at local body shop. and I have a question, because I'm a little bit confused.
it looks like my tl1 hood insert is missing one part or is defected. take a look guys and tell me what you think.
the first photo is not of my car. I found it here in the forum. and you can see that small part between the grills. as I understand that part is here to support water deflector. also you can find it in installation instructions manual. but I didn't find it in the package acs send me. was it supposed to be already attached to the tl1 hood insert or it comes as a separate part? and why I didn't get it?

Ut oh.... It should have been already in place on the insert. Looks like quality control missed it. It is definately supposed to have been there.
It is where the center attaching bolt screws in with the threaded c clip.

without that piece, the Zl1 Deflector would work...

Have you contacted ACS yet? I bet they contacted you after that post; their customer service is top notch that way

My body shop called them on friday and left a voicemail, because nobody answered. Maybe it was already after work hours. So I posted here, hoping to get answer. Should I just leave it like that or switch to zl1 deflector or acs will send me that missing part. After all this is their thread. So far acs haven't replied.

Since its already painted and installed I would probably keep it, if you switch to the ZL1 deflector I think it has to be glued in anyway. That one piece they could probably send you and the epoxy to attach it like they do and then it would be OK.
I am sure ACS will make it right.

That looks great with IOM.....is that a gloss finish? Looks too shiny to be matte.

He said it was Ashen Gray Metallic same color as the 2013 ZL1 painted insert I went with the same color. On his IOM it really pops now he just needs the ZL1 bumper to go along with it

Hi Bitinas,

Spoke to your bodyshop this morning, I think it was Chris we spoke to.

We already made arrangements to send you the missing hardware. It was sent overnight, so it will arrive tomorrow.

I apologize for the inconvenience.

Email us at order@acscomposite.com with the orginal order information and we'll issue a compensation coupon code for the trouble.

Hi ACS Composite,
Thank you so much. I know that it would have been better for you not to have this problem at all, but I think in the end it worked out even better. Now your future custumers knows that you take good care of them. Thank you for A+ service and for awesome hood insert. Have a great day.
