Paid for mine today I was thinking hydro dipped but I am liking the AGM on my fiberglass ZL1 hood now so I think I will go with AGM again. I also opted for the ZL1 style water deflector.

This is the supplied template, it lines up using the cowl line, and edges of the hood.

Great, thanks.Good to see template is aligned using cowl line and front of hood. The less measuring the better. Similar to my fender vents.I assume the rest is test fit, apply adhesive, put in place and attach nuts.Of course,AFTER painting..lol. I also assume one can cut hood liner to fit and replace?

I assumed the adhesive is for attaching the grills to the vents and not attaching the insert to the hood.
I could be wrong.

Question, what is everyone planning on using to cut the hood with? When I put a sunroof in a car 35 years ago I used a Jigsaw with metal cutting blades. I think I used 4 or 5 blades to do the job.

Insert is bolted on using M6 fasteners.... The adhesive between the insert and hood is used to eliminate any potential vibrations or "canning" effect.

No measuring tape is really required, template is your guide, and the trim tolerance is very forgiving since the cut is not visible.

A dremel tool will do wonders and easy to use. A Zippy cutter and jigsaw will also work.

What kind of cutting wheel do you use with the Dremel? I am afraid of it jumping out of the cut and scratching my hood through the tape.
What's a zippy cutter?

On a side note what is the status on shipped orders?

I used an air cut-off tool w/3in. wheel to do my fender vents. I've used a dremel on a computer case,it would take too long 'for me' to do the hood.Maybe with aluminum it wouldn't cut so slow. 1/8 tolerance sounds like plenty, all that said I'd still be nervous as hell to make that first cut..lol. I think a zippy tool is like a bigger and vertical dremel that cuts like a router. *What is the turn around on an order for this right now?

I'd like to see more pics of the hood insert installed on customers cars. Extremely hard to gauge appearance on two shots and where the hood has been modified for side ports as well. It looks like good craftsmanship on the center hood insert.
