Would you buy a cheap new mustang over a camaro?

Would you buy a New 08 mustang GT fully loaded, for 19K and forget about buy the camaro at 30k? In LA there are dealers selling New 08 GTs for 19K!! Just wonder what you guys would think?

I would have to think REAL hard about that one...

19k is an amazing price... add on the HO whipple kit and you have over 400rwhp on stock internals for about 5.5k...

Still less than a 30k camaro..

Well, given this is a Camaro site be prepared for some of the responses you may see.

Having said that, my family has had some Fords in the past and I was just not impressed at all with the quality or performance. I also drove a Mustang in college and wasn't happy with the handling and ride of that car. I would need to ride in both to say. Personally, I would wait until there are some Camaros out on the market and look for a dealer who is willing to deal. I think it will happen, but just depends on how soon you want to buy.

I'm not trying to take sides about ford vs chevy. I'm justing talk about deals and that you get a V8 for very cheap. If you added 10k to the car you can make it fly!

Yeah I was think about that. I want to have a car that I was truly happy with, and I think that would be the camaro.

No Sir.

And if you do, it will be a race by the mods to see who can ban you first.....

I'l totally kidding...

We'll probably just set your new posts to require approval......

Seriously, a few years ago, I felt the very same way. I missed having a hopped up V8 so much that I almost bought a Mus..... (can't type it) a couple different times....

I'm glad I didn't and now I will have exactly what I want.

I leave it to you.

dude, I was JUST thinking about that this morning!
08 GT california special for 25k before their current employee pricing offer...

i'm in the process of selling my current car and moving to NJ in four weeks and would have to get another beater until the camaro has been released.

aaaaah... decisions decisions decisions.

*edit*
the mustang V8 has the gas guzzler tax right?

on the other hand... i'm not sure anymore if i should get a RWD car as a daily driver up there anyway. snow/ice sucks.

Only if you're in desperation of needing to get a new car now. If you can wait then keep waiting for the Camaro. If you need a ride now, get the GT.

And driving a RWD car in the winter is doable. Just gotta drive slower, and use common sense...

Unless I had a Vette with lower ground clearance or something really nice would be the only RWD cars I wouldn't drive in the winter...

I would buy a G8 before a Mustang. The closest thing to a Mustang I'd get is a Lincoln LS, because those things are sleepers.

No. And that 19K unit is called a "loss leader".

They give one away to draw traffic into the dealership.

Notice the stock number in the ads. It's ONE unit. And it's always SOLD.

There's laws against false advertising, but just try and PROVE they didn't sell ONE for 19k. Sometimes they do actually sell one or two at a loss for the traffic.

Go to the dealer. Tell them you want the 19K GT, and watch the show begin.

Yeah, but if you read the fine print, that rules out all cash purchases or non-dealer financing. That's where they'll screw you over.
