ouch

Lovely fall weather, enjoying football on Thursday night at Applebees. Shortly after I finish my salad, a young man comes toward our table. He looks at me and asks "is that your camaro parked in the back". With a smile (I love my Maro) I said yes. "I am so sorry. I hit it". My reaction is "no way it is parked in the far corner". He then explains he drives a truck and didn't turn the corner sharp enough. He escorts me to my car and the great big white semi is sitting on my right rear bumper. All I could say was "no way". All he could say was "I am so sorry". Manager of Applebes comes to investigate... he apparently watched it happen on the surveillance camera. He called the police as I was shaking so bad. And the driver says "I'm so sorry". After police did their thing, we go back in. Our meal hadn't arrived yet and I wasn't sure eating was what I wanted. Margarita seemed like a good idea but my husband is not driving due to injury and neverrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr drives my Maro. Long story short, we got 25 percent off our meal, met a semi driver that says "I'm sorry" and I have to leave with my damage Maro. How was your maro today?

Fixed it for you

On a more serious note. That really sucks. At least the guy came and found you though. A lot of people would just take off.

It's nerve racking when that stuff happens.. It's just a reaction
congrats to you for having nerves of steel.
I'd be shaking too.

Terrible situation. But I agree with others, at least he made the effort to find you. With the cost of insurance, many just take off (evident by the ding in my drivers side door).

Too bad about your Maro. Maybe you can trade it for a stang, or arger, or allenger. Ette' s are cool, too.

Just kidding. I just noticed that was your first post. We kid around with certain things. Calling a Camaro a "maro" is one.

Hate to admit to it... But even with something little like that, I think I'd cry. But really good he came forward. If he hadn't, you would have been 1000x more paranoid about parking it as well as angry.

Not sure how my Maro is doing today actually. When I get home from work, I will make some tea for us, and have a nice discussion in the driveway with it to find out.

I had almost the exact thing happen to mine, except he caught my Camaro right behind the drivers door! I got it fixed and it looks great. You will get your fixed as well. Still, I'm sorry to see it happen to you.

It sucks your car got hit, but the truck driver took responsibilty and sought you out to tell you about the accident. No fault there.

Yeah, just think how you'd have felt if you finished your meal and strolled out to your car to see the damage and no note. Take a breath and let the insurance handle it, and be thankful you don't have to deal with tracking down an uninsured driver!!

That sucks but like everyone is saying, upright of the kid to come find you and tell you. Also, nice of the manager to give you a discount.
I hope you recover from the shock quickly, and let us know how much it's going to cost to fix your Camaro.

I'm impressed he came in and told you. That took a lot of courage. When somebody backed into my car and put a hole in the bumper last year, they didn't come say a word and my insurance had to foot the bill.

Sorry to hear it though, I know it doesn't change the fact that it happened. Don't worry, it'll be good as new ASAP. Long before I get my car back, I bet
