Who at Atlantic Chevrolet specifically made that statement?

FWIW, our service department received a shipment of new tools but I'm not sure that we received a hammer within that shipment.

Let me state that this is the type of unscrupulous, low life and unethical practice that dealers continue to be a part of. Bast Chevrolet is a well respected, long time 3rd generation dealer that contributes to it's community in many aspects. Whether it is charitable, little league sponsorships, fund raising efforts, etc., this dealer has been on Long Island since 1949 and doesn't deserve this type of treatment from a fellow Chevrolet dealer. We have contibuted much to this forum and probably have helped some of the offending dealers customers make it easier to deal with them.

GM and the admins of this forum have been made aware of this thread. Members of this forum should also be careful about rumors they post regarding people or businesses. Whether they heard them first hand or not, you put yourself at risk for a lawsuit by putting this in writing without unsubstantiated facts.

I'm sorry that Atlantic Chevrolet continues to display their unethical business practices by telling customers things that they obviously have no knowledge of. It may just be a salesperson but their management must condone it.

You need to think about that before you go to spend money there.

No offense to you but most dealers cannot be trusted. There are a few out there that are honest, but very hard to find. Whether you are an honest dealer or not I will never know since I never did buisness with you.

well sounds like you are going a little overboard mentioning a lawsuit over this post he asked a question plain and simple cause it was something he heard he didnt say you got the hammer he simply asked the question so you should calm down with the lawsuits if anyone go after the dealer starting the rumor not some member who makes a post and asks a question and nothing more. now i dont know you or the guy that posted the question at all but throwing a lawsuit threat out there because someone asked a question is silly

The title of the thread is "Bast Chevy got the Hammer". No question mark, no "Rumor:". This kind of rumor can really hurt a business. So although I agree that legal action against the OP would be a bit absurd, it's not my livelihood that's being threatened either. No question that thread was started wrecklessly without consideration of the ramifications.

I agree, but disagree. The people on this forum are QUICK to utilize resources that others have posted. I know for a fact that if I lived closer to Camaro Scotty, I would be going to him for my business.. or if I had known about Mac Mulkin, there also.

However, if I had found out that said dealer was going out of business, why would I go there? It's hard to sift through the crap that is spread on the internet, but I come here for a lot of my information.

i come here for a lot of my information as well and most people i have talked to on here have a good head on their shoulders if i saw the place i ordered from was closing i would contact them not take the word from some online forum. and i clearly said i dont know you or the poster. i appreciate the dictionary post but you blew that out of proportion sorry thats my opinion to make a threat of a lawsuit over that.

Yeah, I try and get info on here, but posts like this are going to be treated with a grain of salt. I have gotten a lot of advice and opinions from people but they are only opinions and suggestions. I think the title should of been changed but threatening with a lawsuit was over the top.
