Painted wing on red zl1

Hey guys I'm debating to paint my wing on the zl1 black. What do you guys think? Would it look good on a victory red zl1? And if so, matte black or gloss black? Thanks

Look up a picture of a victory red 1LE, they come with matte black hoods and spoilers, and even the same rims as the ZL1

It would look fine in black, but I think I would stick with the red or buy an after market carbon fiber spoiler to match the hood scoop.

In my opinion, no, it won't look good. Some old muscle cars came with a pedestal-style spoiler painted black, but the lip or ducktail-style spoiler is continuous with the body and needs to be body-colored to look good. The black rear spoiler on the 1LE looks cheap, but the black hood on the 1LE looks way worse. Both look the style of ricers who bought new body panels for their imports and left them flat black because they were too cheap to have them painted. Anyone considering ordering the 1LE option on a new Camaro SS has to weigh the good of the improved handling package with the bad of the black hood. If I had an SS I'd much rather have the standard painted hood with the optional rally stripes. Maybe the guys who lucked out are existing SS owners who can now order the 1LE handling package set and have it installed on their car (without being forced to take a blacked out hood).

I think carbon fiber with a victory red tinted clear coat to make the white carbon threads look red would be nice.

I disagree with you on the ricer thing. I distinctly remember old muscle cars having factory black hoods. Kind of like this one:

This! It's only his opinion, not a fact. Everybody is entitled to one. My opinion is the 1LE black accents look great. They set the car apart from other Camaros. Do what you like, not everybody is the same. Another post said to get a CF spoiler. I think that would look awesome with the CF mohawk on the hood.

With my 370Z roadster I did all my aero pieces on matte black. Looked awesome. My aero was front spoiler, canards, side blades, rear diffuser and rear spoiler.

Exposed weave carbon fiber rear spoiler exactly like the stock one.

Does any aftermarket company offer the ECF replica ZL1 spoiler yet ?

I would go with a vinyl wrap in case you're not happy with the look. I like matte black and carbon fiber vinyl, preferably the CF look.
