9.93 @ 140.79, 60' was(crap)

The car went 9.93 on the warm up pass on an ice cold track (reason for the shitty 60'). Usually on the 2nd pass of the day it picks up at least a tenth or two. The car has been this way forever. Something must have broke, maybe a plug or a valve spring, because at 2/3 track it felt like I threw an anchor out of the window. Car just stopped pulling. Pass ended up being a 10.1 at 135.6. The nitrous was on, everything was good to go until something self destructed. I'll have it to Ted tomorrow so schedule permitting I can take it to Beech Bend next wknd.

At least it still made a gain today but at this rate I'll be 60 before I see a 9.70.


The GN went 10.02 @ 137 with a soft, mid 1.5 60'. The car should fly if it can ever leave on decent boost.

Good Run.. at least you're past all the 10.00 runs now. Hope it's just something simple like plugs and you're back out there next week.

Thanks Mike. I pulled the last 2 plugs on the drivers side, bc they are easy, and they looked gd. Sent pictures to Ted and he agreed. Then he told me to pull then all. My reply, that's why I have you!!! It would be great if it was something simple and easy, but when does that ever happen!!:(

It is what it is. The car has been do reliable for so long. Never any issues. Turn key, press pedal, and go!!

I think some old pos was next to me. I don't notice 11 second cars!!!

The car temp read 32 when I pulled into the burnout box. It actually warmed up by noon and was perfect.

I had some issues with my car as well and when I talked to Ted and explained the problem, he suggested pulling all the plugs too. When I did, I found all the plugs were gapped at .039 -.040, except for 1. Cylinder #3 was gapped at .070 and the electrode was rounded and looked melted. Ted sure knows his stuff. Got the ZR1 plugs and high temp wires, all is good now.

My gaps did look huge. I'm sure he'll listen to it. Pull all the plugs and go from there. They could use a changing anyway. I hurt a plug in March at the track with Ted. He heard the skip while it happened driving down the track. I have no idea what sound I'm listening for when it comes to that stuff. No doubts he'll take care of it.

That was my exact issue: a skip. I heard it and felt it. I think Ted called it "spark blowout."

Can't wait for winter to hit down here!

Ha Ha... I hear you about pulling the rest of them. Last time I pulled the two drivers side easy ones they had no electrodes left. No need to go any further. Sure was nice to get that extra power back.

We are really looking forward to some good races in two weeks down here. The V6 guys are talking all kinds of smak lately. It's gong to be a blast having big competition in both V6 and V8 classes. Wish you guys weren't so far off.

Bolt on best before blower 12.22@113.29 w/ nothing but ARH headers, catted x-pipe, ADM CAI and a tune on stock Pzero`s!

Other car 2008 C6 Ls3, z51, A6, Npp Exhaust, best bonestock pass 11.80@118.82, Number 2 on the Corvette Forums Bonestock fastest list..

You have the setup already to go faster. I get what you and Ted are trying to do with the little blower you have now, but I think it's time you cut your losses and sell your baby blower and get a centrifugal. You made a point with what you have, well respected also, but it's time if you want to run the time. Just my honest opinion. Good luck to you!

Thanks Mike. Nothing that a new set of plugs couldn't cure. I'm heading out for Beech Bend tomorrow morning. I'm hopeful that I can continue to make improvements.

Nah. Why do what everyone else ends up doing. Plus, my car is faster than almost every other centri car out there except for a handful. I'm starting to like feeling like the underdog with stock cubes and the tiny blower. If the centri's were available in 2009 I may have gone that route but they weren't, that why I have what I have. We are waiting for the 4.0 Whipple. The nitrous was just something to keep me interested in the meantime.

Unless the 2010 Duramax is on level 6 that ain't happening. Tomorrow is a travel day. It's 1000 miles. The racing starts on Wednesday. More than likely I'll paly around Thursday and Friday am then devote the rest of the time to getting the Grand National ready for the event.

If I go 9.70 I'll be taking out my own banner ad congratulating myself!!

Whats the schedule for running this week Jamie? I know you said that they would let you run but is this just test passes or do you have to sign up for a class? I want to come out and run with you as I think we have mine figured out.
