Question XM Question

My new Camaro will be my second XM car. I now have a subcription which I am cancelling on June 19th when I sell my car. Does anyone know if I'll get another 3 month trial when my dealer delivers the car or will XM cross reference me and not turn on the radio?

Thanks in advance!!

You will get your first 3 months for free still... It will not even be on your account until you call them and add it.

Transfer your account to your new radio. It'll just tack onto the end of your trial period on the new car. Just call XM and talk to them about it. They'll make you a deal.

That's the way it has worked for me. I've had XM since the first week they were broadcasting in November, 2001. Nice feature on long trips.

I'm on the free trial right now, but I'm going to add the camaro on this week as my 2nd account. They are raising the price $2 per month due to the new royalties fee ruling on July 29th. You can get the lower price if you buy a longer subscription and it won't affect you until the sub runs out.

So how much is XM a month? That one post said $36?! I thought it was much cheaper than that...

I have got 3 year subscription on my Acura TL and it was about $9 per month. Month to month I believe is 12.99 / month and it goes down from there depending on how long of a sub you get. The price is going up $2 per month July 29th unless you get a longer term sub. I never listen to FM/AM radion any more. XM is great for listening to baseball also on the way home from work.

Can the XM "brain" be switched out for a Sirius one or added to the radio?

Nope, I was hoping to do that but it cannot.

When the XM trial ends do a google search on XM with Best of Sirius discounts - there are several sites with posts on how subscribers have told XM they want to cancel, then sent to a save desk which will deal on the renewal price. Do it nearer to the trial expiration - they're desparate to hold customers and will deal. One post indicated they got full XM for $77 a year, I have not searched widely yet but here's one link http://www.retailmenot.com/view/xmradio.com

I enjoyed XM for three years. However, not taking any long trips and only city driving, I droped it and use Pandora thru my iPhone hooked into USB plug. Also, I used to get DFW traffic/weather info and now it is alternately given with Houston traffic/weather. So, by the time I need the traffic info I usually must wait longer and cannot plan my route around traffic until I am into traffic. So, I use the "Map-Show Traffic" feature on my iPhone 3G and it is quick. And the XM money goes toward the iPhone 3G network charges. Now if I could get XM for $77per year and not the $140 I was paying I might subscribe again. My 2 cents. It is nice to have choices.

I canceled my accord v6 that had 1 month left on it and they gave me a credit towards the Camaro. I went fo the lifetime deal. 399.00 for as long as you own the car.

Well, today is 6/26/09 and I just got XM on my new Genesis Coupe for $77 which will start after my 3 mo trial period. I ask about the $12.95 off for credit card and was told they are now giving that credit for a free month 13. All in all, I am happy and glad I found it on here. I think it may expire 6/30.
