Wax On/Wax Off

Started a few mods, strictly cosmetic, she has more than enough power for me. I did remove the camaro plastic/chrome letters off the sides, bowties, and put some blackout film over the taillights and side lights.

First though was a coat of sealer followed by three coats of wax. No machines, all elbow grease. Wax on...wax off. A few more coats and I'll have that mirror finish I'm looking for... I'll go out and take a picture

I'm diggin the Ashen Grey too. I didn't like the Camaro lettering either so I replaced it with the same GM lettering but with supercharged instead of Camaro.

Wow, great comments from everybody. Love the ones with humor, I LOL on a couple of those comments. Friday I get the clear bra and the miles will start immediately. The Red jewel SS I traded-in just had way too many nicks and chips. So that's the reason the miles haven't started adding up. By the time the weekend is over she'll have a good amount more. But until Friday comes it's going to be wax on... wax off, a few more coats at least. Plus it's good exercise...wax on....wax off...

All the coats of wax on her didn't stop a single nick, got my fingers crossed that the clear bra will do the trick...

Looks like you're enjoying your ZL1.
Your car is awesome with the cosmetic mods.
That is the exact car I'm getting delivered in Dec so thanks for letting me see what it looks like with your mods. (not that I'm going to copy you)

I applaud the devotion and commitment you have laid upon your new baby.

Be aware however that your clear bra installer will remove all wax as clear bra films need clean, residue free paint to properly adhere.

Awesome car man!!! If you get time, check out the detailing section of C5. There is a LOT of info in there that is very helpfull. Now I know Im not an expert that needs to give anybody advice but I do know that if just keeping her nice and clean and waxed is what your after, elbow grease works great. But if you want to keep your paint swirl and scratch free(or close to it) get yourself a pc and the results you can get are unreal!!!!.Thanks.

Friday I go for the window tint and the clear bra. Really hope the clear bra looks okay. Never seen one, or maybe I just didn't even notice it. Either way I'll take some pics to post. I'm curious to see if the line shows and from what distance can you actually see the line.

Picked up "The Devil's Nightmare" from Autosport, Kingston, Ma. They did the window tint and the Clear Bra. Great job I must say. They tinted all my car windows in the past. I've had zero experience with the clear bra, but I have to say I'm really impressed. From about two feet you can see the line, but go back four feet or so and it completely disappears.

Window tint is 20% back and two small side windows. Passenger and drivers windows are 30% tint. Front eyebrow is also 20% tint.

The clear bra across the gills is done on an arch, fully covers the gills at the lower section and arches up so the top say one third on the first and higher up on the second, and even more coverage on the third gill. Should be sufficient. Not sure a picture will show the clear bra, but I'll give it a try tomorrow. Put about 100 plus miles on her today, got a late start, but tomorrows another day. Can't wait until she's all broken in, dying to see what she can do!

Sweet car! Break it in incrementally so that you gradually get used to it unless you have a background in HP cars I recommend. The car will seat and come to you over time. Try all the PTM settings, and burnish the breaks from the get go. Once you get near 1K in mileage the car will pretty much be all there. Read the cold weather tire advisory sticky. Fasten your seats belt. Thanks for flying ZL1.

That's some seriously good advise. Around 250 miles now and she's only been in touring. Sunday the weather should be gorgeous and I'll try out sport mode. Thinking about the mild to wild instead of pulling the fuse. Love the sound now, so I can only imagine the sound with the baffles wide open. The clear bra is 3M. Installer told me he sees no difference in it and xpel except the price.

Tried to take a couple photos of the clear bra, but couldn't get anything to show. Not very good lighting today.

Did rack up 'round 200 miles today just joy riding the back roads. Also tried it in "sport" mode. Definitely could feel the difference. I actually like it better in sport mode. Just feels better on those windy back roads. Anyway, sure was fun!
