V6 gas mileage

Let's start a thread exclusively for V6 gas mileage (most other listings are V8).
Just report auto or manual and % city/highway driving.

I am averaging 21mpg with mostly highway driving and some city. I have had the air on so I dont know if that makes a difference. I have to say its slightly dissapointing but I have been told it takes time to settle and break the car in so who knows.

Other than that the car is fantastic

So what's up with this thread? I'm interested in Mileage. I just got my car last week and I'm trying to figure out what my average should be. So far not as good as expected but much better than my 77

That's pretty close to what Motortrend reported when they had a V6M6 Camaro. They said 20.9mpg average.

My Stripe is Silver and I had the windows tinted at 35% - I think it looks pretty stealthy.

I just got my Camaro (2LT V6 Manual trans) last week 06-17-2009. So far I have exactly 300 miles on it. My average is 23.3 mpg. Almost all of it is highway. I am still on the first tank of fuel the dealer put in.

Sorry but there is no way 32 MPG can be accurate unless you were doing neutral down big mountains.

I am currently getting 22.7 on my first tank of gas. I am not running it smooth while breaking it in, so I know it will get better.

60% highway / 40% city

Actually, DFCO down a mountain would be more effective. He was going to the beach, so if he came from a high altitude then there was definitely a lot of descending.

However, isn't the V6 Camaro rated for 28mpg highway? It should be a piece of cake beating that by a mere 15% with the new (since 2008) EPA rating setup.

Manual is rated at 17/29, auto is 18/29.

Low 20s seems to be what most people are getting, though I've noticed that more people are scoring above the average than below.

I'm getting less then 18 mpg avg. I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong. I have about 500 miles on it now. I drive about 75% city, 25% hwy. I hope it improves a decent amount.

It may just be that 75% city/25% highway. Do you have a lot of stop and go driving on your commute? It may also improve as you get more miles on the odo.

Yeah, with the new EPA standards 29 MPG highway isn't the MAX you will get, more like an average. My 07 focus can do about 35 MPG just cruising at 75-80 on the highway even though its only rated at 32 (it was also heavily loaded at the time, no wind though).

Yeah I know my 07 Civic was 30/40, and the new epa standards lowered to to 34 or 36 highway, but on average it is 35, and a 500 mile trip I get 40 mpg doing 75 to 80.
