PTM MODE Question...
ISSUE: The DIC in mode 3 (AH ON), yet both the yellow TC and AH "OFF" button still appear in the dash on the Tach Screen. No matter what mode I choose on TOUR OR SPORT, the yellow indicators on for both TC and AH remain OFF in the Tach bezel. IE, the info conflicts.
Anyone have any insight on this? PS: Yes the car is OFF. But it does the same thing while running. I'm probably just needing to read more about it! LOL.... Last edited by htron50; 02-01-2013 at 06:47 PM. |

both lights are on when you activate the PTM modes but it does not represent which mode those systems are in. I feel like they dropped the ball a bit on this.
in that mode all systems are still active but yet the indicators are off. they just have the code written to illuminate both TC and active handlign lamps to off when you enter PTM.

This is normal, once you enter PTM, the stabil-trak and TC light will light up and stay lite no matter which PTM mode you are in, a little contradicting I know, but that is the way it was programmed.

I know this... This car "rocks" with this cool air. Absolutely becoming a different animal after break in and with the cooler weather! Very gratifying! Extremely faaaast. (Not to hijack my own thread... LOL). Back on subject.... do you think GM will offer a software adjustment to control the AH light to make it consistent with the DIC? Would be nice. |

Yeah this really confused me too and I was going to post a similar thread, you just beat me to it!
Glad to know it's normal operation, even if it makes no sense!

...what I do know before I try to duplicate your post is that when I restart the car, briefly it registers what the last setting it was on, then goes to the default mode.

learned some things playing, press the TC button twice and enter PTM mode, + or - to change them, no looping. The modes and selective ride is selected this way, stability and traction control work with the modes (they are still on) even though the lights are lit. light are off on the switches....
pressing and holding (10sec) will turn off stability and traction control but you can still select the ride control, lights still on and only have the ability to change from sport or tour. here is a great clip explaining it all.

Both lights on are supposed to indicated you are in PTM mode, regardless of the sub-settings. That was the intent, so I doubt they'll change it.

Does the display say PTM Mode? If you press the button twice too fast, it doesn't actually enter PTM...
