Car poster

Had the car poster redone to correct the spelling of my wife's name. That had to be a must!

XPel clear bra being installed right now. I will pick it up tonight after work and let you all know how it turned out. It's funny that the car is a instant magnet with all the people in the shop with I drove in, everyone stopping what they were doing and came over to look at everything. They all loved the look of the engine and the sound of the blower whine!

XPel Install

Just picked up my car from Willis and man they did a really good job with the XPel install. I would highly recommend them for your cars! The Xpel looks, or should I say you can't see it, that's the best part of all. This stuff is pretty thick and has some self healing properties with a heat gun or the sun. Talk to Walker Robinette, he's your man.

Tire rotation wrong!

When I picked up my car the other day, the tech pointed out to me that my tires are installed backwards (directional rotation). You would think a Chevy mechanic that swapped out my rotors and pads would know how to put the tires back on the car the correct way! We haven't had the weather to drive the car so I haven't driven it all, except to get the clear bra installed the other day. I'm sure I would of caught this when detailing the wheels. I have an appointment tomorrow to get the tires swapped around. The weather is going to be really nice for a change!

Happened to me as well. I had left the car at the dealer for them to paint the ZL1 and the bow ties on the wheels. When I picked up teh car, i noticed that the tires had been marked LF, RF, etc and didn't think anything of it.

I'm sitting at a car show th enext day enjoying the warm sun when a kid comes up to me and told me the wheels were on wrong. I just kind of blew him off, thinking it can't be, the dealer is the only one that had them off, etc.

When I got home I looked, and by george the kid was right. The arows were pointing in the wrong direction.

Even the dealer was puxxled when they saw it that following Monday, and I told hime what I thought might have happened.

What side of the car is the left side.?
If your sitting in the car, then the drivers side is the left side.
If you're standing in front of the car looking at it, the passenger side is on your left.
I figured that the person that took them off, marked them one way, and the person that put them back on looked at the car the opposite way.

Sure enough, the service manager got curious, asked his guys, and sure enough that's what happened. It was one of the new young guys that marked them wrong.

Innocent mistake. Oooops.

No, still dealing with GM customer service and the dealership. Hopefully it will get resolved this summer. Very, very slow process.

Got the chrome 10 spoke wheels ordered and should be here next week. I think they will look amazing on the car. Of course I will post pics. Now to see if someone is interested in buying the polished 5 spoke?

Your car just keeps getting better and better looking! Did you ever order up a custom etched windscreen? Remember seeing one lit up that just looked fantastic and I thought of you. The engine bay is awesome, so much extra detail, but not over the top. Seen a few get carried away and get a little gaudy. Looking forward to seeing the new chrome wheels!

Will be asking $2,300, not including shipping. I'm getting the repo chrome 10 spoke, should be here in 2 weeks. Just went over 1,00 miles on the car on Friday. I went to my first car show yesterday, sure had allot of questions! I'm thinking about some pin stripping based on cars I saw done by a local guy, need to call him and get ideas. Not to much just some small areas that you can't tell unless you get really close.

Cool, Looking forward to see those chrome wheels on your Z. I would consider a set of chrome wheels too. I wish they were an option for the Z.

Any way of getting a close up picture of the XPEL wrap by the headlight bezels. I had lupe smooth and paint a set for me and I am debating on having them XPEL'ed first then installed and then getting the nose XPEL'ed after. Don't want to mess up the work by installing the bezels after the xPEL

It really wouldn't matter either before or after. I could take a picture but nothing would really show up because it blends into all areas so good, so all you would see is just the car area. I highly recommend getting the XPel to protect your investment, just get the whole front end done! I didn't do any of the hood because I thought that area would be OK. It looks really good because you can hardly see it. You wouldn't know it was done unless I told you it had been done. Find a really good installer and give him all the time he needs to get it perfect.

I second that on the Xpel. Just got it done last week and I'm extremely happy with it! Have you used the Xpel sealant on yours? I was thinking of trying it out. I want it to stay looking this good for years.
