Keep black hood wrap or take it off?

Just wondering how many of you would keep the black hood wrap or take it off? I hope the hood is painted in the ordered color so when its removed the the hood does not need to be painted.

Im currently trying a way to afford a 1Le and if I did get one I would take the wrap off. I like the look without it and I think its easier to take care of too.

I'm probably going to keep mine for a while...It doesn't look bad in the photos, but I think I'm gonna eventually want stripes instead

Wraps are like bad body work they leave the door open for rust to attack!!! I say yank the the wrap and paint it so that it's easier to maintain and you won't have to worry about what's going on underneath.

The hoo is already painted, the wrap goes on afterwards like the stripes. I plan to keep it although i never liked vinyl stripe material. I would really like to get teh ZL1 bumper and hood, but not sure if it is wot the money, better off spending money on performace.

I agree I like the signature look much like the GTO Judge stripes and other muscle cars that set them apart but I think for my personal car I would take it off. If you plan on keeping it forever all original and want to maybe turn it into an investment then keep it on otherwise do what you want with your car.

I will be keeping mine on. Hopefully keeping it garaged will help the vinyl last a little bit longer.

It looks cheap, I will remove it immediately, or replace it for rally or transformer stripes, or none.

The hood is aluminum.. My vote is to keep it and I hate vinyl stickers and what not on these cars, painted would be better..

If I got one, I wouldn't drive it home with the wrap on! It looks like a ricer civic with a primered hood, but it's your car in the end.

I'm going to keep mine on for a while, I feel like I'm one of the few people on this site that actually likes the way the black hood looks . If the vinyl starts to fade after a few years, I'll probably rip it off and get the hood painted semi-gloss black

That should look pretty sweet. I used to not care for the black hood but after seeing all these pics I love it. It's amazing how these few changes to the SS add up to a great looking package. I think the 1LE is the best looking factory Camaro so far.

I wan't to know how much the black hood reduces glare.... It may be worth leaving it on if its effective!

I didn't know that thanks. I still say yank it off and paint it black.

dang...Becky is lucky to be in Michigan...the GM product trainers down here don't know sh**. I told one of them not too long ago that the 1LE's DID NOT come with magnetic ride like the ZL1. He thought I was lying to him!

As a dealership employee...I shouldn't be getting info from a forum

and thanks sukxost

I don't know much about wraps. If you take it off does it cause any damage to the painted hood underneath?

I'm looking at ordering a 1LE in the very near future. Not knowing much about the wrap, how durable the vinyl is, etc., makes me unsure what I will do with the hood. The flat/matte look of the hood had kind of grown on me.

Take it off! I paid for a paint job, not a sticker!

When I order mine it will be one of the first things I do. I will eventually either paint it black or get a ZL1 hood/bumper combo for it.
