British comparison of ZL1 and GT500

Not sure if this has been posted before but it is a very interesting, but not always factually correct, comparison of the ZL1 and GT500.

Enjoy!

ZL1 2 seconds Faster

Really enjoyed this video. Chris Harris can drive and at his skill level, which is better than mine, he was two seconds faster around the track in the ZL1. Around town driving he picked the ZL1. His choice is the Super Snake, but he was looking for the baddest which I interpreted as the one you have to physically work at the hardest. The ZL1 is superior in sophistication, you don't have to be a professional driver. It stays planted and it's much easier to control. Even at this guys level of expertise he was faster, two seconds faster, and that's huge. I also noticed that when he's driving the ZL1 he seems relaxed and very comfortable. Behind the Super Snake he's sweating, it looks like he's working out at the gym. I like the kicked back relaxed look, don't want to step out with my date all stinky, wet and a sweaty smelling up the car. Just my opinion. Love my ZL1!

Enjoy!
If you mean it's the HP ratings that don't appear to be "factually correct", know that there is more than one definition of "Horsepower", with the metric horsepower definition being slightly "weaker" (i.e. engine ratings end up with biggert numbers in metric HP than what we're used to seeing here).

Me too.

I think what he's getting at is that it's OK to prefer a raw visceral driving experience over refinement and sophistication even when refinement & sophistication is demonstrably faster. Not a whole lot different than what's behind some other topic that never stops floating back to the top, actually.

Fixed the title. Note to self no more posting after multiple glasses of Maker's Mark.

As far as my factually correct comment I was referring to the "de-tuned LS9 from the ZR1" statement.

If all you want is speed you might be disappointed by your upcoming 1LE (if you are, I'll take it off your hands). People all have different criteria for buying a car, even enthusiasts. Most of us are looking for a thrill. I suspect you'll find that with the 1LE, but based on your comment I don't understand why you didn't buy the ZL1 instead.

FOr the record, the car is a GT500, NOT a Super Snake. A Super Snake is a GT500 sent off to Shelby Autos in Las Vegas, and then $30K later, it becomes a Super Snake.
