Looks good. Especially your paint. My paint has been looking like crap. Little black spots that don't rub off. Spider webbing (been letting others wash it). I am no longer letting anyone else wash it even if it has to be dirty for a couple weeks. Spent most of last Sunday on just the trunk lid, roof, and haunches with my Porter Cable.

Thanks... I know what I am doing and still have some of the spider webbing... sometimes good enough just has to be good enough for a daily driver... the pop on the paint has a lot to do with Blacklight and V07 from Chemical Guys. So I glaze now mostly and will only cut 105 once a year and polish 205 at most twice a year.

Almost time for another cut and polish. :-D

205 still cuts some, right? What sealant do use? v07 only?

Yes 205 on a white pad technically cuts as do all polishes... it is very light. I have Collinite 845 on top of the blacklight glaze and then the V07 is used. After I wash I hit it with the V07.. but very sparingly... less is definitely more with that product.

I use the white pad and 205 twice a year. I see my CRT on the pad which is concerning. For sealant I use Jet Seal 109 by hand. Then V7 between polishing.

Remember our clear coat is tinted... I'd net money that is what you are seeing. It would take a long time to burn trough the clear with a PC and a white pad.

Thanks guys. I haven't been online much. Working like a dog. Thanks for the tip Tram. My paint looks SO MUCH better now I don't let the idiots wash and dry it. ;-)

Just bought and received a soft water kit from Autogeeks. Can't wait to try it this weekend.

Did you put the same size back on, and what brand tire?

How many miles do you expect to get out of those?

How do they feel? Do they screech going hard around corners?

How'd you keep the tire shop from screwing up your wheels?

The car rides a tad softer... just took a 500 mile ride on the interstate... I like em. They turn in quicker than the Goodyear's. On hard cornering the Michelin AS/ 3s stick and bite very well. The sidewall on these are not as stiff as on the Goodyears... this causes the car to lean in a little. All in all I am very satisfied with the performance for daily spirited driving.

The new Costco down here did a perfect job! As soon as I saw the torque wrench I knew I made the correct choice.

I might have to look into those when my first set wears out. I'll definitely be using some tread on November 16th. I'm going to a Camaro HPDE at Roebling Road Raceway in Savannah. Can't Wait!

Soft Water = Less Hassle

Being the control freak that I am, I have to say the $100 I just spent on a water filtration kit to soften the water was a BIG success. My wash today was so easy. Super sudsy soap, simple sheeting (drying with water), and Zero and I mean ZERO water spots. FINALLY. I felt like I could control my wash.

Does anyone have one of these (got it at Autogeek) or have something similar? How often do you need to replace the salt rocks? How often can they be used before they wither away? And how long does the filter last?

I should probably post this on the wash forum but I figure Tram might have a remark ...

I meant to ask earlier. Do these tires come with an under 40 degree clause like the Goodyears? I'm guessing from the pics that the compound isn't as soft?

I have never used a softener... glad to hear the good result... post up in the detailing section A LOT of good help over there. I'll be watching and learning. FWIW I mist my car detail spray before drying... help with the water spots.

These are All Season Tires.. I can tell you after a ride yesterday in the rain at *cough 150 cough* that if you need an all season tire for this car you want the Michelins.

With some miles on them they seem to be performing better. Obviously not the best tire for track-day, but you could damn sure use them that way and most of us would not be able to outdrive them anyway.

I have two problems. My front, right wheel makes a chirping sound. Can't pinpoint it. And my fan is grinding like a bearing is missing. The dealer told me not to worry about the wheel sound. I'm going to get the fan fixed first and evaluate the wheel.
