Mild to Wild Exhaust Controller

Just wanted some opinions on it? I'm thinking of getting one for my 1LE and wanted to see how the ZL1 owners like it?

Any issues with it functioning? I'd imagine it's pretty easy to install and simple to use.

Pretty straight forward. gets installed in th fusebox in the trunk and if you get a wireless one you can program the homelink buttons...

Only thing is the baffels will be always open or stock (open at idle/wot and closed in the midrange). You cant do fully closed...

Just pull the fuse. I bought the mild to wild and it's just sitting on my workbench.

fuse pull is too easy, in fact you won't know the difference.

With a fuse pull in my 2012 GS Vett, you knew you pulled the fuse, load and mean.

With the ZL1 it mostly sounds the same, I do have a manual mild to wild and yes you can tell a slight difference when off, but really not like the vett. So why I say pull the fuse and leave it, you won't really know a difference.

Why do this? Just pull the fuse, not many want it full closed.

With the ZL1 it's exactly the same. At idle it's already wide open (unlike the vette) so you will notice zero difference activating and de-activating M2W. You have to be driving down the road at a steady RPM and then open and close it to notice. All it really does is introduce some drone when it's open and also more decel pop.

This mod isn't as noticeable on the Camaro as it is the Vette.

I installed it...very easy install. But after a while I left it open all the time so the truth is that a fuse pull would accomplish exactly the same thing.

I actually like the exhaust the way it is. I like the lack of drone at cruising speed. I think they did a great job with this part of the car. But I can understand people wanting it fully open all the time. May try it out sometime..

I would be interested in a way to close the baffle during idle at times. Could you send me a PM on how to go about it, once you start to add mods it can a bit loud compared to stock. Thx.

I see no point in this mod . . . the exhaust is loud and open at all the right times . . and nice and quiet cruising down the highway.

ADM has a stealth switch which allows you to switch between stock and fully closed which they use in combination with headers as it can be too loud... (they mount it in the center console). I also still have my M2W switch installed which allows me now to have 3 options: fully closed, stock and fully open.

(the fully closed one will be used during my inspection in Switzerland)

I didn't use Mild2Wild, but a "homemade" version. The switch is in the trunk, which is fine with me, because I only ever open the valves to add some extra noise down low when showing off.

But the system you're interested in is a good one, so I've heard. Big "cool factor".

I tend to agree. The Corvette benefits a lot from it...the Camaro, less-so because of the way it was programmed from factory.

I believe it's F8 in the trunk box.

Check your manual - I think they're called "active exhaust", or "exhaust flappers". I can't remember which....

x2

I thought of this when first hearing about the fuse pull and Mild to Wild.

Where I use to work, we used remote switches with fobs in our security systems. I already designed two 6 relay remote controlled relay boards to control my (future): Halos, cooling fans, xchanger pump, DRLs, flappers, ABLs, underhood lights, etc. Great way to keep from having to drill a bunch of holes for switchs...

Yes but they only provide that service for customers that they are providing work for atm in house. I would suspect the reason for that is
the work is performed correctly. I can understand that, but I'm hoping
there will be a finished product (plug and play) sort of item on the market
eventually.

my .02 if you exhaust is stock most people will just think the fuse pull is fine. there is not a tone of drone.

there is more drone with the fuse pull though. if you run a switch or a relay and can actuate the flaps at criuse RPM you will hear a difference.

now if you run headers or a midpipe then being able to leave the flap closed at cruise will just make it easier to use the bluetooth and other things.

now for those who think the fuse pull does nothing above about 4k it is night an day on sound output with the fuse pulled. the flaps cut the sound. stand behind the car and have some rev it up with the fuse pulled and fuse in.
