I never knew that. Quite interesting.

Got the new hood on my car ! I gotta tell you the quality of this hood is AMAZING. The fit, well we didn't have to "fit" it. It just went on, and done. I'll post more pics tomorrow of the detail, friggin cold outside, and I'll take pics in better light. This is NOT painted right now either - it'll get painted next week. I honestly couldn't be happier - it just looks so mean.

If you have any doubts about it, you shouldn't.

Fix the vents so it will be better for a DD and you have a winner.

The vents aren't cut out - can do either. My car is a DD, and that was my concern too. I'll take some better pics today.

I understand that. What is the point of having two vents if they are closed all the time? I'd prefer to have them open with some kind of ducting to get rid of the water from rain, washing or whatever...

That is counter intuitive. If you have ducts to reroute the water, it is also rerouting the air flow, making it pointless. The thing to do would be to do what HPE did with the hex vents provide a "drip" pan for winter driving and just open it up during the summer.

You guys know it will not hurt anything to let some water gets in there. All electrical connections are weather tight. If you have one of those cold air inductions with no lid. then it would not be so good to get the air filter wet.

Yup, that's why I don't see it as a big problem unless you have an open cold air intake.

Yeah his shop is quite literally in my backyard. I can cut through this little field from my house and I'm there. - I've got some new pics, I'm just going through them, and I'll post them in a couple mins.

Close up of the vents. The cool thing about these vents is that you could finish them off in a variety of ways. You can chrome them, polish them, paint them hydro coat them, give them the brushed look, anything. These particular vents were powder coated black and then the "high spots" were polished.

Loved seeing these pics in my inbox recently......dyamn!

Would love to see it with not so much of a cowl (as an option) too. I love it either way though.

I am thinking of getting rid of our prototype hood which retains the stock height if you were interested.
