$52,176.This is not including gas guzzler tax nor destination charges.Hold back I believe is 3%.You should also note that the dealer pays LESS than invoice for the car.I dont know how much less but it is less.

since dealers do not pay invoice it should be called dealer cost. What is the point of an invoice if no one pays that ammount?

here is my car. It had exposed carbon$600 and suede$495.

hb was $1663

now invoice is tricky now that they have the IMR ahd LMA fee's.

so as you can see invoice on ine was 54,294 if I you take away destination, IMR, LMA but it was 56,284 if you include them.

I paid supplier 56,001 -500 cash back +250 courtesy delivery so I paid 55,751.

They are for advertising. Not every dealer has that. You can negotiate those somewhat.

This is really useful info.

How does one get $500 Cash Back and/or does the $1000 "Special Offer" work
for the ZL1?

I'd buy a ZL1 at invoice in a heart beat. The fact that a local dealer has 4 ZL1's without a buyer makes me cringe...

I got the $500 through an email from the suppier pricing website. Those offers usually have a time period associated with them.

The dealership I went with would take my supplier code but go no lower without it being some form of incentive to them.

I'm walking in with a pre-filled out check and a clean trade-in, it's the end of the month and getting close to the end of the year; let's see how much they like money or sitting on inventory.

Wish me luck!

Well, I had a ZL1 at Invoice, plus the $1000 private offer and I still walked away.
The ZL1 felt a little more refined than my SS, but I just couldn't come to terms with
the deal. I was give a reasonable $26,000 trade in value for my 2SS, and they were willing to absorb the cost of removing my mods, but I'm not convinced that the ZL1
is worth the additional $30,000. I have until Sunday (really?), so...
have at it Cfivers, especially former SS owners; was I foolish to walk away?

How many miles on your SS?? That seems like a pretty good deal. I have been thinking about trading for a ZL1 also but I keep thinking I should see what the new Vette looks like and the 2015 Camaro. I have around $25,000 in mods and I know I can kiss at least half of that good bye. I really think I might wait until spring and see what I can get selling it myself..

My wife is a ups driver so they qualify for supplier, friends and family, or xplan. If you know anybody who works for them they can pull the info from upsers website.

Some cars I can get people below that price point but on this car I could not.

I just turned 12,000 on the drive to the dealer

I planned on keeping this SS and passing it on to the grandkids (none yet)
in 20 years of so. The HP is intoxicating and the clutch and ride are smoother, but still...

Not if the money is the issue. But I promise 110% the ZL1 is absolutely worth the extra money if you can swing it. But reality takes precedence, of course. The only reason I'm in one is because a couple of stars aligned at the right time.

That's a tough call. To me it kind of hinges on whether or not the ride and supention is worth anything to you. That is the one mod you can't add.

It is hard on a test drive to really feel what this car has. i mean did you really hit any 30mph corners at 90mph?

There are some of the parts that are expensive as well the carbon heat extractor comes to mind.

If things like this are not important/appealing the zl1 is kind of overpriced. After riding in a zr1 I became a fan of the mag ride. It was just better than my z06 in every way.

SCORE!
I walked out on the deal Saturday afternoon - wrestled with it and decided to get the ZL1 Saturday night. Fortunately the car was not sold after I left and the last best offer was honored. My 2010 SS has some niggling problems; My CC collects 3 oz of oil every 500 miles (glad I had a CC!), but GM says it's "within specs". The TR6060 has the annoying 2-3 notchiness, again unrepairable as it's "within specs" and the suspension was starting to creak and groan due to age (much like me). Since I planned on keeping the car 'forever', I reasoned (justified?) that the purchase was warranted. So...

2013 ZL1, VR, 6M, - Invoice plus the add ons (Nav and Silver wheels),
$26300 trade in value for my 2010 2SS/RS with 12,000 miles.
PLUS, my $1000 Private Offer was honored.

I was not able to pull off the Solo HF Cats (those exhaust manifold bolts wouldn't budge!) nor the Vmax Ported throttle body (no swap handy), so the next owner gets the benefit at no extra charge (I doubt the dealer recognizes the value)

Overall, I consider myself very fortunate.

Love that idle exhust note!

A friend of mine had an 06 Z06 and swore he would never buy another one because it was so rough on his back. Well after I took him for a ride in my ZL1 and he felt the mag suspension do its magic, he went a week later and bought a new Z06.

I bought my used 2010 2SS/RS from a Ford dealership, they didn't mention the CAI, Magnaflow cat back, Passport 9500ci, or lack of engine cover. They did mention the hurst shifter, but they guy didn't know it was stock.
Exhaust - $1500
Passport - $1600+$500(install)= $2100
CAI - $400
$4,000 in after market parts and I bought the car below suggested retail for the options and year by $1k.

Start at Invoice $52176, add your options (if any), calculate your State's DMV T & L
(they may have an on line calculator - CA does), add GG Tax and Delivery $900 (do dealers really pay that, or is that padded too?) and come up with a total.

That was my starting point. You can go up or down from there, depending on your
negotiating acumen and the dealers desperation to sell a car.

$26300 for a 2010 2SS/RS with 12,000mi? I have 37,500 miles on mine and I'd want about the same. Congrats on the new ride!
