Nice. Notchback ftw. I've owned three different fox mustangs. 92 gt, 93 lx 5.0, and 93 cobra.

My first car was a 79 hatchback Mustang. My husband's first car was a 76 Camaro. Now, he has the Mustang and I have the Camaro...

We have had several, but the 90s model Mustangs were the fastest.

Creepy. I had a 92 gt <black>, 93 lx 5.0 notch <red>, 93 cobra <red> too. Also owned a black 2010 SS camaro like you. I traded it for a black ZL1 which looks similar to your Camaro as you added ZL1 parts. Are you copying me?

Fox Bodies are my favorite Mustang to destroy. They think they've got you just because they weigh less, well so does an anemic sprinter.

They do have a distinct advantage because they are light. That just means everyone else has to figure out where they can shed a few pounds and what they can mod to get the most torque/hp.

Camaros are just crappy drag platforms.
Way too much weight.
Foxbodys are one of the best drag platforms out there.

That vid brings back memories of running my 92 notch back in the day. There was some fast stangs but also some very fast camaro's I will have to find my old time slips but I think 6.2@110 in the 1/8 on a 275 dot radial and I was always the last place quailfyer.lol the fast radial guys ran 5.5 with their street legal stangs. One turbo camaro was always the man to beat a orange 87 camaro IROC . There is just something special about doing wheelies as it is so much fun with these cars.

IROCs were fast. I had one, and absolutely loved it. That's one of the few cars I wish I had never gotten rid of.

THe Fox bodies are great till time to slow down or turn LOL...unless youve spent money on suspension and brakes. But just think in the days of the Foxes and IROC's they were what 14.5 second cars stock

I had an '87 5.0 with a 5 speed. There were lots of GTs & IROCs out there so my plain white 5 liter car surprised a lot of folks at the time. I also owned a 5.0 notch (91) and put 197K on it. It would use .5 Qt of oil between changes. 400 HP was only obtainable with forced induction or nitrous back then.

It is funny how today's stock cars are running times that cars in the 80s and 90s were running with mods.

Love me some fox body, built 9 so far but have had a few dozen camaro's. Heres my latest, complete rebuild from rust free 4 cylinder car. swapped over every item from 91 5.0 donor and added 04 cobra brakes, heads, cam, intake and 5 speed.

Compared to what... I love hearing this! Lets see, stock Fox body is a great platform once you remove and replace every freaking part under the car, because stock and bolted they are slow as hell...4th gens another great platform that needs trans work and a hole new rear end! Any car can be a great platform, just happens the a solid axle car is easier to work with!

What? it is EASILY one of the best platfoprms. Good rear end, chasis, sloid axel and the MOST IMPORTANT part is a less than 3000 [pound curb weight for the notchbacks. That alone makes it a better platform than the 4th gen F-bodies and especially the 5th gen.

Sooo what it weighs less! If the car is heavy it just takes a different setup... I dont care what kind of car it is, anything can be fast if its done right! Heavy or light, the heavy cars just need torque and to be geared right. My olds was just as heavy as this camaro, ran mid 11s with a basicly stock 455, with heads and a small cam. Or you could build a fox with a little small block and run the same times... who cares how it get done as long as it get done!

So true!! What I love is people saying a low 13 - high 12 second stock SS is slow. I remember when my 94 GT first ran 12 second pass in full street trim. Car had a build motor, trans, rear end and was supercharged. None of the original driveline was left except the rearend housing. My wife's 92 GT was considered fast for 100% stock and ran a low 14 second ET which is slower than modern v6 cars.

Ya just what I was saying, the fox is such an awesome platform that you need to change pretty much everything to run mid 12s I remember guys I knew that had gears, full exhaust, and cams still running 13s! Ya the car is lightwieght and makes for a good drag car, they have a cool look! But I love when people talk bout a platform, what the heck is so great about it? You know what else is a great platform... any GM A body, G body, camaro, mustang, and a thousand other cars that need to be torn down and needs a built motor, trans, rear, suspension, fuel systeme, tires... wait thats the hole point of this hobby!

Fact is these moddern muscle cars are MUCH faster in stock form then they have ever been no matter brand, its nice running 12s in a close to stock car on stock tires, with 11s not far off! I think that makes the SS a good platform... regardless of what it wieghs or what rear it has, most of us are not building 9 sec cars out of these things and having a 12 sec car right out the box is pretty freakin sweet if you ask me!
