Chevy ZL1 accessories

Hi, everyone! Joe and I have been very successful in showing our beloved ZL1 this year. We were thinking of adding some Chevy accessories to it and were wondering if anyone out there has any opinions on these two:
1) blade spoiler. Is this available in our car's Ashen Gray Metallic color? Also, will it create too much downforce as opposed to the original spoiler it came with?
2) ground effects package. is it available in our car's color? Will it hurt or enhance our car's performance?
Also, will Joe and his mechanic be able to install these things, or must Chevy dealer do it?
Thank you everyone!

Gratz on the ZL-1.

First, if the blade spoiler would have created more down force, Chevrolet would have more than likely used that vs the one you have. Is it availble in Ashen grey? Should be, but if not you can get it painted. Just remember you will need a new deck lid as it's not a direct bolt on swap. At least that's what I was told.

Ground effects, you already have some. They don't come color matching to the car. Plus I would not advise getting aftermarkets unless you're going for a completly different look. What you have on your car optimizes the flow of air in and around the different angles. You should be able to paint them with out any effect to air flow.

No need to have Chevrolet do any of the exterior trim work unless you like to spend money. It's not that hard and Youtube has plenty of videos of how to work with the different parts you mention.

Good luck and have fun!

I think if you are considering ground effects, consider having the installed gray plastic ground effects painted Ashen Gray. It would give the car a different look while maintaining the aerodynamics of the car.

The spoiler is an easy swap, but it certainly would change the downforce. If you don't race it then that really shouldn't matter.

Just my opinion. Hope it helps.

If you do change those items. I would be interested in purchasing the original ZL1 parts you remove.

OK, guys...please clarify the spoiler. One said the deck needs to be changed, another said it is an easy swap. Which is it? Also, would the blade spoiler hurt or enhance the performance? Would the new ground effects hurt or enhance the performance? We don't race it, but do take it to the track on occasion. Lots of fun to get it rolling!!!

I'm not sure if the blade spoiler would hurt or enhance the aerodynamics but here are some pictures of it on the Performance V8 Concept.

I think the new ground effects would hurt the performance. The ZL1 ground effects were designed for aerodynamics so I wouldn't mess with it.

I like the blade spoiler's taller look. Regarding performance, you are talking very high speeds before you would notice a difference if at all. Yes it will create more downforce in the rear. At what speed? I'm thinking 100+. Under normal conditions I don't think you would even notice anything.
