Steeler NY,

One of our customers installed the All-In-One Harness with Ghosted LED sidemarkers, and reports that the front side markers are dim compared to the rear markers at night when they are operating as running lights.

When the fronts are signaling a turn (at night), then they are as bright as the rears, as you would expect.

We are trying to gauge interest in a new version of the All-In-One harness optimized for use with aftermarket LED side markers, especially tinted and ghosted ones that aren't so well suited to operate in a dual-intensity mode.

See post #14 in this thread in the Cosmetics & Lighting Forum http://www.camaro5.com/forums/showthread.php?t=266912

I think this new LED side marker version is what you would ideally want. Please let us know what you think.

Thanks,

--Keith

8. Locate the Right Turn Signal connector and push back the conduit to expose the two wires. The Black one is ground, the other one (blue/white) is the hot one that we need to splice into. Use the supplied 3M scotchlok splice to splice the Turn Signal lead onto the Orange wire of the All-In-One Harness.

No Cutting of Wires, No Soldering required !

Keith
This doesn't make sense. If there is "splicing" involved, then it is not truly a Plug & Play Installation.

Color me impressed (and very interested). I have the "concept LED side markers" from AAC and I'm curious to see just how "odd" it might look when using the front side markers with "dual intensity".... I'm also curious to see if you could make an additional harness for the rear side marker lights.... I'd love to have them work the same way the fronts do with this harness. (it would resolve the brightness differences in when in lower intensity mode)

- Jay
I'd also be interested in a rear sidemarker harness, but one that would (1) be truly Plug & Play (meaning no cutting, soldering, splicing involved), (2) work with aftermarket LED sidemarkers, and (3) make the rear sidemarkers work exactly as the front ones so that their brightness is the same in any mode PLUS they also "blink" when the turn signal is active. Is that possible?

The dual intensity LEDs included in our kit match the rear factory side markers extremely well when in normal night time operating mode, and they are of course brighter than the stock rear markers when using high intensity mode to signal turns.

For Camaro RS owners who have installed high intensity LED side markers from one of the vendors selling them here, the simplest near term solution is to cut the power signal feed to each of the rear markers and insert a series resistor to limit the current and reduce the intensity. This has the added benefit of "dimming down" the high intensity LED side markers slightly during normal night time operation, as they are typically quite bright.

Best Regards,

Keith
The problem is that some of us don't want to mess with the existing electrical system at all (e.g. cutting, soldering)...not even splicing.

Klepton,

We've worked hard to make the installation process for the All-In-One Harness as simple and straight-forward as possible. Detailed installation instructions are included with pictures to guide you through every step.

The splicing that is required to tap into the front turn signals is very easy to do and does not require cutting of any wires, nor soldering.

-------------------------------------------------------------

LnLSS,

Thanks! We'll add you to the list for the new version of the All-In-One

Hi Keith,
I'm not questioning how simple and straight forward the installation process or how easy the splicing may be. I was just mentioning the fact that some folks would prefer a truly plug & play harness, which would require no splicing...not just no cutting/soldering.

You didn't answer my question:

I'd also be interested in a rear sidemarker harness, but one that would (1) be truly Plug & Play (meaning no cutting, soldering, splicing involved), (2) work with aftermarket LED sidemarkers, and (3) make the rear sidemarkers work exactly as the front ones so that their brightness is the same in any mode PLUS they also "blink" when the turn signal is active. Klepton,

Sorry, no plans at this time to develop a rear harness that works as you've described. There are some technical challenges involved, and it would require you to insert aftermarket wiring in the path of some extremely important signals (that control the BRAKE LIGHTS).

Similar question. Let's say I'm getting a set of OEM HID Projectors and Halos to add to my non-RS. I like the idea of having all of these options (even with my stock side markers). Will this harness work for me, or do I need a custom one?
