I did it correctly after 1500 miles, IMO that's way too risky to work the engine like that with just 100 miles.

First 70% of the break in is first 50 miles.

on another note i was very pleased/surprised that it put down 524. it was 75* so im sure that helped. the car is no where near the power of my last build but i really feel like im driving a completely different car. i love the power and poise and refinement. i am more excited to own and drive it than i anticipated.

sounds like a similar story. i sold my SS to my friend but just as a H/C car - took the YSI off. so it went from 800rwhp to 525rwhp. and he still beats on it hard like i did. he also wants to race me. i am eager to see how the cars do. we have about the same hp but i have about 40 more tq but our power-bands are different. also i am pretty confident i can out drive him lol!

Hell if u pay over 60k for a car u should drive it like u want and if it brakes then it's a faulty engine in my op... I've driven ever car I've owned without a break in.

what break-in period??

Yeah shoot just ignore Chevrolet, I'm sure you know better than the engineers, after all they just designed it >> what do they know anyway? I dont want to cause any flames but...

Folk thats disobey simple instructions do so at their own peril. It's just amazing, buy a great car then take huge chances. I fully intend to enjoy this car for years.

I'll drive it like the 3000GTVR4 I still have as a DD; sanely. Twenty years later it still runs very strong especially with turbo upgrades and better breathing over stock, and every teenager serving food at McD's always comments on the lack of dents dings, and the overall pristine condition.

When you drive it like you stole it the wear and tear will show as the years wear on, as will an owner who baby's a car. Its the comments that come to you after years of owning where folks cant believe you have a car which looks new. The neat thing is you end up not having to replace it due to not wearing the car out.

I'm getting an Inferno Orange "13 next week, and while I'll carefully break it in properly; I do intend to eventually send it to KDI and build it to 750 to 850 RWHP...but only after properly breaking it in; and enjoying the warranty.

Dude...you mean you let the Motor run at a constant engine speed for an hour and didn't vary the speed at all and then hammered it?

That's the biggest engine taboo of all.
Good God

Omg. The car gets driven on the street first. It seems to be the thing to do now I guess. Always get off subject and don't pay attention to the OP. everyone's a critic and expert. I digress. My mistake for posting.

It's all good man...It's your Car....you can do what you want with it.

Lots of guys here drive the shit out of their cars,do 6K clutch dumps, dyno it with 100 miles etc.and never blink an eye,and just say it's GM's fault if it breaks etc.

Some people just don't see it that way that's all.
