2SS Camaro VS Grand National with 22lb of boost

Buddy at work just took me for a ride in his GN. I never thought that car could pull like that we where going 25mph and he stomps it and leaves two black strips like it was nothing.
Than we slowed down to about 15mph and than laid a 200 foot black strip on the road. that car pulled like crazy turned around on the road just gave it a little gas and the tail broke loose again.

I know the camaro is going to be slower than a ported polished GN with 22lb of boost but how does the SS stack up with a stock GN?

GN are such nasty cars. It's the ultimate comeback to "domestics and turbos shouldn't mix".

At 22 psi, I think that GN would walk on a stock SS but OEM to OEM I think the SS will stay ahead. It'll be almost a driver's race, I think.

Actually, it was originally used for the Grand National and then later for the Impala SS

As the previous owner of a few GN's and current owner of a TTA, all I have to say is don't underestimate any of them. With that being said, my first car was an '86 Z28 and I am chomping at the bit to get a new SS.

I don't know what you are talking about, my Turbo-T is stock down to the Chrome Trim rings on the fenders, I swear they all came with precision turbo's, roller cams & heads that have Champion stamped in them. Don't worry about the little black truck either, she's just your every day run of the mill GMC Sonoma.

They used to also make License plate frames that said I Brake for Corvettes, because in 86 & 87 the cold air cars were quicker in the quarter mile than the Vettes were off of the showroom floor.

I don't have good luck with cars, my Burick & Sonoma are both alcoholics & my poor Formula has a problem with laughing gas.

I love G-Bodies & they have a really good suspension from the factory as a starting point for a good hooking drag car, and they are comfortable, roomy good riding cars. It's embarrassing to some people to lose a race to me @ the track & then have them come up & see the Simpson Racing Baby seat in the back & the TV hanging from the ceiling with sponge bob playing for my son to watch (and no I don't race with my son in the car), but the baby seat stays in.

I had an 87 GN as well as an 89 TTA... The comment about none being stock is on the money. DEAD stock the Camaro would probably beat a GN, but there are a few practically free mods that can be done to a GN that will have it taking down the Camaro in No time...

The TTA on the other hand, stock on a cool day would definitely drop the Camaro, with a few mods the one I had was downright terrifying..... It used to light up the tires every time it shifted....
