How many of you are going to actully put you're 1LE on the track?

First things first my 1LE was made today YEA!!!!!!!!!!!!! Just wondering by show of hands(giggle)how many of you are going to actually be putting you're 1LE's on the track? I for one will be all the time.In addition to running silverstate http://www.sscc.us/ which this May i will be running the grand sport class the 150 mph class with a top speed of 165 )))))))))) i think i will be in heaven, well as close to it without being dead,if any of you have ever thought about it, this race is a blast, and those of you that need speed like i do, owe it to yourself to do it.By time i get my engine broke in the 1st track day i will be able to make will be Feb 24th at Fontana http://www.speedventures.com/events/Default.aspx then it will be back to Daytona,VIR,Road America,Laguna Seca just to name a few.

I don't have any options out here, except for SCCA which I read comes around once a year :( if I take delivery and break it in in time, I'll try to get in on that...but other than that mine won't see a track til I leave the island

Yep, it is snowing today, so it will have to wait until May 20, but I have that day set on my calendar as the first track day out.

My 1LE will mostly be a weekend backroads and coast cruiser for the wife and I. I would like to give racing a try, I've never done it before. What are the proper steps to take to make it happen?

I am planing on taking mine out after winter. It is not my daily driver but will be me fun car so weekends and some workdays it will see action. Love tearin up the country roads in it but cant wait for some track time. Gingerman for the first 2-3 times so I can explore the limits without any driver aifs and hipefully end up with some mid ohio track days towards the end of the year.

As far as track days anyone can do them you need to locate you're closest track as most all of the have some sort of track day as well a lot of them have groups like out here in Calif i run with speedventures. You just sign up and have fun,if you dont have any experience you will most likely start in the begginers group but then you get to have fun ))) it worth it so do it.

I plan on doing track days with mine. That was one of the considerations for me when getting the 1LE.

I've never even been to a drag race but I will try to get into road racing as often as my finances will allow. I hope to be racing by late spring, early summer.

Take the Tacoma. The tires do crack under 40 degrees and the guys on here are saying they have zero grip when the tires are cold.

SCCA and NASA. Track as well as Autocross. Summit Point, VIR, Mid-Ohio and Watkins GLEN. I also have an E36 M3 track car, but no where near the power as the 1LE.

There are lots of track option here in Northern Virginia. Summit is only 30 minutes from my house.

I seem to be located between Summit and VIR, and would like to try as well.I have an instructor lined up. Really looking forward to this!

Ha! I'm really interested to see how I will do out there. I have a feeling I will be humbled my first times out. I will be drawing from my street racing days and my experience driving emergency vehicles.

Find a track near you, and get hold of their calendar. Just sign up with one of the clubs that run there, and they'll help you figure out the rest.

You'll need to get an SA rated helmet, and preferably upgrade to high temp brake fluid. That's all a beginner really needs to do.

You'll be paired up with an instructor in the right seat to teach you how to get around the track safely and quickly. You won't be "racing", but rather driving at high speeds with controlled passing of other cars. The goal is to have fun while improving your driving skills and learning the limits of your car.

I intend to track mine, I will do a few track days, perhaps some auto-cross and see where that gets me. But will mostly be a weekend warrior and occasional cruiser and trip to work or 3 ha ha. Tires and money will be my limiting factor.
