I got the connectors for this but no pins. I'm working on a solution. I've got to build a few more Aux Gauge harnesses so, I'll try to fit in finding a solution to this as well over the next few days. I'll keep everybody updated.

****edit

waiting on Delphi/Packard to get back with me on the pins. I originally had my parts lady try to go through them but, I just think she checked the website and didn't find them. The girl I talked to at Delphi couldn't find them in the databases she has so she sent one of the component engineers my info and what I was looking for. Hopefully, he can find them for me and get me some samples. If that fails then I'm going to have to try and rig something up using the connector. I'm not giving up. Just need more time.

Hey, you didn't by chance take a few photo's of the connector for your replacement mirror did you? I have a 2SS and am thinking of getting a LCD enabled mirror from an acadia and installing it for a back up camera but am trying to find whatever details I can on the wiring of the stock mirror first.

Cheers.

I waited a LONG time for this cable and they were still several weeks away from having one.

I then checked with three different Chevy parts departments to confirm what part number was correct for the OnStar capable auto dimming mirror found in the 2LT/2SS Camaros. It is 13503048.

I ordered the 13503048 mirror from gmpartsdirect.com for a total of $103.60 (shipped). I just received it today and installed it in about 5 minutes. I pulled the Camaro out of the garage and tested the OnStar button and it worked.

I pulled the Camaro back into the garage and closed the garage door (to simulate night time). I used a flash light as my "light source from behind" to see if the mirror did in fact "dim". It did.

Success!

If you have a LS/1LT/1SS with a flip mirror, you can purchase GM mirror 13503048 to get the same mirror found in the 2LT/2SS Camaros.

The auto dimming mirror is "bigger" (height) than the flip mirror, but only by a 1/4". It really didn't seem like a huge change (to me).

So there you go....
thats awesome, i've been wondering this ever since I got my camaro as I loved the auto dimming mirror in my old car, am def gonna order this, thanks for the part # and tellin us your research!

I finally got a response from Delphi/Packard and they're shipping me some terminals for the connector. I'll just be making a simple kit for these for you to splice crimp splice into the existing wires for power and then simply plug into the homelink board as originally intended. Sorry about the crimp splice but, that's the only way I have to tap into power. Whoever is interested in one of these please send me a PM.

thanks

Ask and ye shall receive. Here are the mod harnesses. This isn't anything extravagant. It's just a two wire thing. It's the homelink connector with the two terminals populated and the wires measuring about 9 inches (which should give you plenty of room to work with) and with spade terminals on the end. Also included are the crimp splices. Simply crimp these onto the appropriate wires and then plug in the spade terminals. Here are a couple pictures of what I came up with.

I made a couple of these already, as you can see, so these are ready to ship out. I have enough for 6 total. Those interested can PM me and we can discuss a price.

Your harness is making it almost possible... think there would be a way to create a T connector that would tap the existing module shown below? Would make it plug and play...

Is it possible? Yes. Is it practical? Not really. I'd have to find a female connector for that connector to plug into and I'd also have to find that connector so, I could make a passthru harness. It's not an easy task to get these connectors and it would make the cost go up significantly. Using the splice crimps is very easy and only slightly alters the factory wiring. You can take the crimps off later and simply tape up the wire if so desired. This mod harness would be my suggestion but, I could look into a passthru harness if enough people wanted to explore that.

I'm interested... but I would be more interested in a "non-invasive" approach... I could just T-Tap, but...

The reason I haven't posted a price is because I'm not really sure how the mods feel about posting pricing for stuff like this. It's not a mass marketed thing so, not sure it would fall under the sponsored seller thing or not and I don't want to get myself in hot water. With that being said, I'll throw a price out there and if the mods disapprove then I hope they understand I'm just trying to provide a service and not trying to get rich off of doing stuff like this. For ten dead Washingtons I will send one of these out. Hupperware, I can research a more non-invasive approach but, it will require more time, effort, and legwork on my part which raises the cost. Keep in mind this is for simply TWO wires going into a connector. The non-invasive approach consists of a passthru harness that simply taps into the 2 wires needed to get 12V and GND. The cost of the two wires and the connector to the homelink isn't that big of a concern. The passthru part of the harness would be. Just doesn't seem worth it to me for what is essentially 2 wires.

I don't think they have different colors but, I could be wrong.

Hupperware... I started an inquiry into getting those connectors. I will let you know if I can get them or not. It will be next week sometime.

Just giving an update. I put in a request for the connectors earlier this week. I haven't heard back from the manufacturer so, I have no idea if they've been shipped out or if my request has just been blown off. I tried calling the rep today and the guy didn't return my phone call. So, at the moment, I'm in a holding pattern for a perfectly invasive solution for this. As it stands, I have 2 copies of the crimp splice solution ready to ship out to anybody that wants them.

well I was interested in adding the homelink buttons, but then I saw the price for them. I'll stick with the remote clipped to my visor.

I just stuck mine up there with double sided mounting tape to the place where the homelink should be. We'll see how long it stays.

Good news is it was free if it doesn't work out.
