well fyi to those who are still looking to do this. I have a 2012 1ss, so the harness is different for the mirror (backup camera from factory).
AND, you cant wire to the dome because of signal interference, so I tapped into the pink and black wire going to the passenger air bag module next to the dome light, which works perfectly. I was going to run a wire to the fuse box but heck, this works just as well, only less tidy. |

Is there a part number for the Homelink unit itself? I have an export Gulf spec car, and have the hole ready made for the unit, just don't know the part number for it, don't need the whole console....
Thanks! |

Did this on my 2012 LS tonight, Wired to the mirror harness, found a wrecked Camaro and got the whole console for 50 bucks. Special thanks to Darth Martel for making the harness, made it a easy install. Works like a champ!!

I wound up wiring my homelink all the way to the fuse panel, so that it would work like the factory version. Now mine works whether the car is on or off.

The only reason I like to have mine only work with the key on is so that someone cannot break into my vehicle and open my garage if car is outside, I have way too much dirtbikes and stuff in the garage.

Hey Darth, sent you a pm to see if you might have any of the homelink plug/play harnesses left?

Not trying to hijack, but have a related mirror question.
Anybody know if the frameless auto-dimming rearview mirror, that comes standard on the 2013 2SS, is plug n play with the 1SS of the same year? Will call the parts folks next business day, but anyone happen to know the part number of this very new sleek mirror? Ig Last edited by iglooc00l; 02-17-2013 at 03:23 PM. Reason: Nevermind. Found the mirror on ebay for $158.93 |

I am in need of a plug and play harness also and PM'd Darth. Anyone hear from him lately? Looks like his last activity was December 2012. Anyone know of anywhere to get this plug and play harness? I may shoot Ofer an email.

Just wanted to update the info in the thread for those with 2012 and up Camaros with the new wiring going to the rear view mirror. There are apparently 3 Pink wires to choose from. One is Ignition, another is for the rear camera, and the other is a low reference. The one we want is the Ignition. The black wire is, as usual, Ground. So, that doesn't change. What sucks is now you'll have to trace the appropriate Pink wire from the connector that plugs into the rear view mirror back into the roof panel in order to tap into it. Good times!!! It's a bit of a hassle but, not too terrible, I think. The pins you want are pin 5 (black wire) for Ground... and pin 2 (pink wire) for Ignition. I'm attaching a pic of the connector for reference. Hopefully, this makes it easier for everybody.
