SS front bumper "help!"

Hello camaro5,
So this guy is trying to sell me his SS front bumper, the bumper has a burn the size of a quarter. The burn did not make a hole but it looks bad, would I be able to fix this??? and I will have to paint the bumper to the paint job that is on my car anyways. Any suggestions??

You would be better off just buying a new cover, Mine was 341.00 shipped, Then you have to find someone to paint it.

What the hell happened to that thing?!? Is it really worth the effort/cost just to get a non-functional mail slot? Save your money for something worth-while.

He said that his garage caught on fire last weekend, idk how , when I saw the bumper two months ago it wasn't burned, now it look nasty and muddy, he said one of his friend can fix it, but I'm not convinced.

I'd pass on that front bumper, it looks like it has seen better days.

Maybe you could mount the front plate over the "burn" hard to tell without pics.

Call your body shop that's painting it. There's no sense in asking a bunch of people here who have probably never done body work.

True, I just wanted to see if anyone has seen this before, the guy that painted my car told me he can fix that and he is going to paint the bumper anyways, the guy that is selling it told me i could have it for $40.

For $40 then it's probably worth it, worst that can happen is you have a $40 piece of plastic.

I threw away a bumper cover with less damage than that. Don't do it.

It generally costs more in labor to repaint bumpers than just buying new ones. They have to sand down the whole thing and reprep it versus just hitting anew one with primer and paint.
