The same thing has happened to me on more than one occasion it would not engage in reverse several times and one time it would not engage in any gear. I also have the wineing and noise in neutral at times you can still hear it when the radio is playing. The car was very tight at 15 to 120 miles . The problem started at 140 miles on the odometer.

Can anybody compare the pics at CorvetteMods.com and see if the skip-shift eliminating fuse will work on the Camaros? There is a picture of the fusebox, I'm willing to bet it'll work. I would but I don't have my car yet. I would also link to the product page but not sure if that's allowed.

Forced shifts!

I have had my 2SS 1LE for a couple weeks now. It is the first manual I have had in a while.

I thought I might have been a little rusty but after reading this I don't think so. It is getting better now though.

The forced 1st to 4th makes me want to scream. I watch it now and when the shift pattern pops up on my screen I just stay with first a little longer till it disappears then go to 2nd. Doesn't last but for a few seconds. It is an issue when it isn't expected though. I will get a shift eliminator soon.

Other than that it is a dream to drive and I love my Crystal Red 1LE!

Lovin' that new car huh? Most of us had the skip shift waiting because we knew of the issue. You'll be good to go, once you pop one in.

I never had a problem with the skipshift, in my old 2010 over 3 years it activated less than 10 times. Don't drive slow off the line and you will be fine, or just hold the gear till it goes away.

It actually wastes fuel because you need to drive harder to avoid it.

For gov't CAFE fuel-saving standards, suposedly. Reminds me of the old joke "I'm from the government, and I'm here to help you."

My new (300 miles) is a little notchy when shifting into reverse when cold...but, buttery smooth otherwise in all forward gears. FWIW.

Skip shift eliminators are a simple plug n play install...

My transmission is making excessive gear whine and also I can hear the throw out bearing when I let the clutch out in N. I heard some others say they had this too. Is it normal while the car is broken in? Does the sound improve over time or when you changed the tranny fluid? I don't have much if any chatter, but I'm a pretty good driver too and have had many manual cars before. :-)

No problems in the first 800 miles, it shifts like butter.

I hated the shifts in my LS though.
