I bought the complete kit; I'm not real high on the 2 piece drive shaft. But given there are a lot of high HP zl1s that haven't had an issue, I'll probably live with it for now.

I guess they have it out now, I'll have to call my GM parts dealer for a price.
I never liked the 2 piece drive shaft either although I hear it's a little beefier (the ZL1 shaft) then then the stock SS one, maybe just due to the larger bolts?
I broke a drive-shaft bolt already, damn near ripped a hole in my fuel tank! Ruined the shaft an all, and that was just shifting into 2nd gear on the street! good thing I got right off it, Now that's where there should be a safety loop!

List price is $4500, my local dealer offered $4050. If you can find someone with a employee discount you can save a few hundred more.

My GM parts dealer said $3750.00 net price, list is $4500.00, but that was before the kit was ready, I guess by your numbers it should be the same, did you have to add any additional parts to make the kit work like the trans flange or was it all included?

Called dealer he said the ZL1 IRS upgrade still isn't available? Then how can other distributors sell it if GM doesn't have the complete kit listed yet to sell?

I guess the dealers in PA don't have them or something, I called a chevy dealer and they said they weren't available yet, just the price for $3750.00 (net.) for the complete kit but not available yet?!
I'll Probably just go with the HammerHead kit anyway now. at least it will be lighter!

I would recomend that for sure! We love ours and we have been beating on it HARD..The zl unit is better than the SS but i wouldnt say its been tested yet imo. The hammerhead package is very close in price and has proven parts.

Yes I may go with that, and there is more options for it too like carriers and gear ratios, etc..
How much power & torque has the hammerhead been taking (tested) so far?

Question: If I have the 1K HP DSS axles on the stock unit would they work with the HammerHead?

My kit is shipping from GM. I haven't received yet, but expect it to be complete.

My local Chevy parts store had them ready to ship.

Cool, I just need to get the driveshaft and the trans flange and the nuts and bolts and I'll have a complete kit also. Hope it works out with the power you are going to be making. Are you planning on doing the diff cooler down the road?
