Like I've said, my GM/Chevy Performance contact who I see each year and 3x a year for the IMS Chevy Dealers events said this can probably be done cause it helps and promotes 'The Brand', so he wants me to get back to him ASAP with details so he can present it to IMS before their calendar gets something booked on this target date which I assume everyone would probably want to do this on the first day as they did the cruise. Typically we have police escorts to the track and stage on the North 40 but with something like this, info needs to be given in advance and let those who want to participate to meet at that location where we stage for the Camaro/Corvette Rally the night before the Indy500 and then proceed onto the track most likely from Turn 2. Again, all of this is in the pre-amble stages but nothing will be done until the powers to be contact me so I can get back to GM and IMS. This not my show. I'm just a member like everyone else who enjoys this opportunity and wold like for others who not experienced this, to check it out.

Like we didn't pay any attention to it last year?

Numerous phone calls and emails back and forth and it was on their time and our dime. They wanted waay to much $$ for us to get on that track, wouldn't let us do it when we wanted, no photography, etc etc etc. It got to be such a pain that we dropped it.

Jeeez!

Give me some time, man!

I just responded to you first thing this morning. Folks, we are going to look into this and see if it's a possibility. However, if it doesn't happen, it doesn't happen. Let us work on the details with Joe and we'll see what we can come up with.

Yes...we'd very much like for this to happen. Maybe it'll work out this year.

AWESOME! With Chozn working on this, I have a very good feeling it may happen. He's pretty good at organizing "fun" activities for Camaro people.

OK, I'll be going CODE Dark from this point on. Tag got with me and gave me his feelings on this taking place with all the other things that will be going on. I've just sent the requested info that GM wanted and now I wait. I really think this will happen but until they say we have a green light, its just an idea that we'd like to see happen.

My guy said he would take the info to IMS on next week and see if they'll give their blessing on it and once I find out something I'll inform Tag and he can list the info to the body of C5.com, whether its a 'Go or a No-Go'. Bottom line is, we're trying to get this done and I feel good about it. They know I'm with the Indiana State Police and we have a great reputation with the IMS yearly with their events, so hopefully this will bode well for us in addition to all of us being avid Camaro lovers!

Again, its in the works, keep your fingers crossed, those like me who believe say a prayer or two and the tip jar mod will be installed if it happens. LOL

Peace! Someone turn off the lights as I've left the room......

If was a joke. Mods try very hard to get the point across that post count doesn't matter .

For Opening Day, May 2010 we had 500 Camaro's and close to 1000 for the Night Before the Race Camaro/Corvette Rally. They've only limited for the 100 anniversary and had 100 Camaro's for Opening Day and close to the same the night before the race.

We'll see what happens. I've given them the number per Tag as a minimum and what could be the high end. I reserve the P1 position for myself. LOL
Again, my 'Tip Jar' will be near my car for acts of kindness and appreciation! Too Precious needs a new set of shoes.....

If everyone gives you a $1 your set! You should accept cold drinks too

That could be interesting.. I still need to decide if i want to stick to the street tire class or run radials this year. It was hard enough launching with 600 hp, i can't imagine it with my 700hp goal for next summer.

Same location twice? What a terrible call. Who cares if it was the best attendance to date, it means nothing if you don't let others experience it too.

Not all of us can afford(time/money) to go all the time just as not all of us can afford the latest and greatest driving machine. Camaro Fest should be in the spirit of bringing together those who enthusiasts.

Someone needs to get the decision makers a map, last year they said the event would be East. Pardon me but Indianapolis is neither East nor West.

Not all of us can afford(time/money) to go all the time just as not all of us can afford the latest and greatest driving machine. Camaro Fest should be in the spirit of bringing together those who enthusiasts. This is the one time you might want to try and go since you obviously missed it last year. A one day drive is as cheap as it gets and you have 8 months to save. 2nd chances don't come around too often. You're one of the lucky ones.

Someone needs to get the decision makers a map, last year they said the event would be East. Pardon me but Indianapolis is neither East nor West.
Kinda think you're the one who needs a map. Most folks as close as you are jumping up and down happy with this one.
