Low Vin Number
lots of references on the board about having that all desireable 'low' vin number. Just wanted to see what the opinions were on what is considered low??
Would all the R6P Camaro's be 'low VIN'?? would 112000 be low?? Thoughts? |

I wish I had a low VIN number. My car still hasn't been built yet and I'm an R6P order. My hopes of getting a low VIN number have long passed.

To me a low vin number would be under 100, or one of the pre 100001 series cars.

Remember the first 3 were sold for charity/number 3. Then they made the ctf cars. I forget how many.
With that being said they probably made roughly 50-75 before starting customer cars. So many vin 075-1075 maybe? thats just my opinion. Obviously the first few cars; 2010; 666; 5 - those would all be worth more cause of their number but these are all guesses. At least I hope so since i'm number #1002 Just my opinion. |

i believe the R6P code is all that really matters. i'm sure 20 - 30 years down the road, an R6P VIN under 1000 will pull more than say my R6P at 7553..............but the R6P code will rule.

As far as the actual standard production vehicles, I do think there will be a slight difference in value between RP6 and non-RP6 cars. However, that may take some time. I think anything sub VIN 100100 or in the 000500-000999 range will also be more valuable in the long-run. But truly, only time will tell. |

I would say first 1000 or so.
But at the end of the day it takes 25 years for it to become Classic and 75 to be Antique. And then it needs to be bone stock and mint to appreciate up a lot. |

I don't necessarily disagree. Only time will tell and a big factor will be how many of "x" number are still around. We may find that anything sub 2500 is considered rare by then.

After watching just about every barrett jackson auction the only real valuable vin numbers are the first and last of a production series. This was shown at the last Mercum auto auction in Indy. The last Cuda ever produced pulled down big bucks. The condition and overall number of units produced is the real value determining factor. Now with that said. Those that have what we consider low vin numbers will probably take great care of them and they will naturally be worth more. Sure if you have all documents that too is a bonus. R6P might add to the story but I have not seen it cause a higher auction price. I think to all the enthusiests we all know that our situation and pre-order process has been unique but will it prove worth money in 25 to 30 years....probably not IMO Of course I am saying this cause mine is 8874 and not low by any stretch of the imagination....lol

![]() any R6P - we are the ones who really waited for this car IMHO As stated before - R6P on the window sticker and low number is the key.

As noted before, VIN 001 and the last one made (hopefully in 20 years
) will pull more money as will the first 2SS, first 1SS, etc (if it can be verified as the first). Anything else, IMO, will be "interesting" but I don't think a low VIN alone will bring significantly more money - maybe just slightly more to a buyer that considers the low VIN an important factor. RP6 with all the documentation, letters, etc from GM will likely pull more money, but I'd guess less than 5% of value. Options will be king, with 2SS and 1SS manuals leading the pack, followed by automatics and then the 6 cylinder models significantly behind. Bold colors, two-tone interiors, rare options (GFX, $4k wheel package, etc), and documentation is what will bring the money years down the road. But that's so far away, better to just enjoy the car today and if it happens to be worth something years from now, then all the better. As the car guy adage goes, if you were dating a hot model, would you save her for the next guy? Same with the car - drive it!
