Six Sixty Six is now “HURST EQUIPPED”…

The new Hurst shifter is the BOMB; worth every penny. 44% is modest and I was used to it by the end of the driveway. Love the feel and don’t think there is any need for the Dynomat. Ran it through the gears and had a slight gear noise in 3rd at full throttle but that was it. Very easy install and it only took about an hour. Definitely a must have “Bolt On”…

I installed the Hurst shifter last night and what an inprovment. Installation was a breeze, but I do have a hoist in my shop. It took me only half and hour to put it in. I choose, for know, to keep the OEM shifter knob on and possibly change to the chrome and white ball later. The shifter is worth every penny. Thanks Nick for your prompt call when you received the shifters. The shifter actually came one day before I picked the car up from the dealer and I hadn't even had the car home for more than six hours and I had my Hennesey CAI and Hurst shifter installed. I too believe it is modest by saying the 40% reduction in throw it is awesome.

Pictures of stock shifter assembly.

This is why the stock assembly is so quiet. Quite a bit of weight and rubber dampening engineered in. I swear the stock knob weighs as much as the shifter rod and together they are fat!… Its going to make a nice addition to the display case.

I was able to take a decent road trip with the new Hurst Billit/Plus Shifter this weekend and get a better feel for it. There is a small amount of gear noise through all the gears at full throttle so those who are picky may want to go with the Dynomat to quite it down. Not a big deal for me yet but have to wait in see in the future. Other than the small amount of gear noise I love everything about the Hurst Billit/Plus Shifter; competition short throw, great feel, and KILLER looks.

Yep, but who would want to do that...

Normal driving conditions there is no gear noise at all. It is only when you are putting the smack down do you hear the gears turning.

UPS delivered mine today at 11:00 AM, Installed and driving by 1:00 PM.
Just 2 hrs to jack it up set stands (I raised just the drivers side front and
rear), and do the install. I put dynamat on all the exposed rod under the car(the linkage that runs to the tranny), also the hurst arm that sticks out from under the car, and the area around the retaining screws under the boot under the car. After bolting the chrome rod to the shifter, I wrapped dynamat around all the exposed metal and 7/32" hex bolts under the boot inside the car. The shifter is now as quiet as the stock one.

Here's some dimensions of the Hurst compared to OEM:

Throw from 3rd to 4th gear: OEM - 3 1/2"
Hurst - 1 3/4"

Height from console: OEM - 5"
Hurst knob - 5 3/4"
Hurst w/OEM knob - 5"

Distance of knob from
dash w/shifter in 3rd gear: OEM - 3 1/2"
Hurst knob - 5 1/2"

I like that the Hurst knob is 2" further back, you don't have to reach to
grab the shifter. And your elbow doesn't have to come off the armrest.

I just wish Hurst would come up with a boot support that has a chrome top. It would look alot better
than the dull rubber piece.

found, and ordered the shifter online for $309.00, free shipping. It looks like it may be backordered. So proceed with care!!

I didn't care, I probably will not install, or have installed, until after the NY winter.
