Not so sure about this yet. I recognize the purpose of the HURST, but the OE looks a bit better IMO.

I can't remember where I saw it on here, but it was 40% shorter throw.

No price yet, hurst just used his car to design it ! Congrats man. Thats a sweet deal you got there. Im happy 4 ya, Guess the rest of us will just have to wait and drool!!!!

Gm wants it redone to less reduction in travel.

Harumph!

Are they including Skip Shift elimination along with the new kit, or at least as an accessory to the kit?

can you describe what the "more positive shift" is like? is it stiffer or just more pronounced thresholds going into and out of gear?

I kind of ordered one at dealer in october .
guess this mean I won't get one.
I wonder what was the point of preorder!?!
we get the cars after the dealers and with fewer accesories than ordered. I was no/ 2000 or something and getting 10000 or something.
So to stay with the idea : there is something fishy at gm.

here :i talked to the dealer and they are at a loss!

so please someone explain to me:
I have preodered a 2lt around no. 2000 in october
first I wait for show cars
then show room / dealer cars
then v8 's
and now instead of taking delivery may 16th - june 6th give or take
they'll delay me another 3-6 month for not having the hurst ready? or are they sending it factory 2lt standard ?????
and instead of getting vin 2000 or somesuch I'll get 15000-20000? and a year late order ?
what's the point of preordering???
what's the point of paying top msrp and above, if the thing will depreciate with a year , a few days after getting it?

and no I didn't get: I'm in the "just a few more days area with my dealer"!

Hurst Shifter looks great, i've never had one so what can i expect when i buy one? The shifter from Hurst you say has a 40% reduction Is this the distance between gears? Sorry for all the questions i just don't know much about it so could someone explan this and the PRO's and cons. I Believe i want the hurst shifter that has a 40% reduction it just seams better. What would the part number be for this item?

Had Hurst shifters on many cars (59 Corvette, 63 Corvette, 70 Camaro,64 409, The stock shifter is as good if not better than Hurst unless they have come up with a better solution. I will have to drive a Camaro with one installed before I buy.

Feel sorry for the people who were really set on this shifter. Having to wait this long is really disappointing. I am suprised GM didn't replace Hurst with another brand months ago, given that this looks like all of Hurst's delay.
Let's clear up the confusion here> The shifter thats posted in this thread is HURST's Aftermarket version!. This shifter is made for those customers who bought a camaro and decided not to order the O.E> Hurst shifter with the car. They are (2) entirely different shifters!. To be clear: The hold up on the O.E> version of the Hurst shifter was not their doing, it is due largely in part to the situation at GM, plus some running changes that GM and Hurst had mutually agreed upon to "spice" up the design aspect of the shifter..nothing more!.. A decision was made by GM to move the O.E. shifter from the "accessory" division to the "line installed" division so there has been delay in getting that moved over with all the issues currently going on. The Aftermarket version (shown here) can be installed without removing the trans, only loosening the cross member a little to get better access.. The O.E> version has a complete "casting" as requested by GM and it is believed at this point the trans will need to be dropped to install that particular unit..hence the reason it is to be installed "on the line" or "at the dealer level"...so, that's the story
