YES! Im sorry, an aftermarket shifter should do at least one of the two following things.... preferably the latter!

1: shorten the throw of the shift
2: provide some way of protecting the shift forks via adjustable shift stops.

Otherwise all you're getting for your money is a shiny shifter lever and white ball with HURST on it.

Waste of money in my book!

its does both!. Shortens the throw considerably over the stock unit AND the tr6060 trans has built in stops in it so there is no need for the shifter to incorporate them

I'm at a loss. I ordered a manual 2SS.....but my dealer said nothing about a shifter "option." Nobody even told me you had different options FOR a shifter. So......what the hell shifter am I getting then?

Lots of options for different things on the car, Most dealers just didnt know what was going on during the early order process. Look around this site some, you will be armed with tons of knowledge next time you go to the dealer.

This shifter is made for those customers who bought a camaro and decided not to order the O.E> Hurst shifter with the car. They are (2) entirely different shifters!. To be clear: The hold up on the O.E> version of the Hurst shifter was not their doing, it is due largely in part to the situation at GM, plus some running changes that GM and Hurst had mutually agreed upon to "spice" up the design aspect of the shifter..nothing more!.. A decision was made by GM to move the O.E. shifter from the "accessory" division to the "line installed" division so there has been delay in getting that moved over with all the issues currently going on. The Aftermarket version (shown here) can be installed without removing the trans, only loosening the cross member a little to get better access.. The O.E> version has a complete "casting" as requested by GM and it is believed at this point the trans will need to be dropped to install that particular unit..hence the reason it is to be installed "on the line" or "at the dealer level"...so, that's the story
Well, if this is fact, then than God I cancelled it! I WILL be getting the new Hurst shifter. I just hope I can get my hands on one within the next two weeks.

Owie, they will have to drop the tranny for the OE one? I better cancel my order for that, cause that won`t be cheap to install

It is fact and it will likely be a couple months before this new shifter starts shipping as they have to release it officially to production now that its confirmed to fit etc.

B&M and Hurst are in one building now. B&M owns Hurst. There may be a B&M shifter for the Camaro at some point, but it will be quite a ways off still .

I wonder if we can order straight from hurst?
I'll do a deposit and get on a list. Just like I did for the car!

there is a good chance a special "code" will be avail for pre-orders on the hurst website to allow for a nice discount over the regular selling price. If and when I get it I will let everyone know

Oh, I believed you! It was just a type of saying....of mine...."well, if that's the case...." (in other words). I know it's going to be a killer on the streets AND on the track!

Thanks for all the work on this shifter.
I've been using Hurst shifters for the past 7 years and will NOT use anything else unless forced to do so!.....which means, I'll have a couple months in my SS with a stocker. Cool by me, though! Can't wait!

I would get it only for the shiny shifter lever with the ball on it, tbh.

I'm sold.

I had a B&M with a stainless steel ball on it in a cavalier I was messing with back in the day. I live in Texas and that stainless steel ball would heat up to around 749 degree F. I soon learned that if you take an Oakley bag and place it over the shifter when you are out of the car...it works wonders Is this hurst going to have a stainless steel ball??
