To tune or not to tune?

Ok I've been reading ant and all post about tuning. I'm really considering doing a tune but I would like other people's input. What are the positives and negatives of tunning? Well besides the obvious HP gained.

- Warranty gone.

+ No more skip shift. M6

+ Better Launch control if you want it.

+ No Lift Shift if you want. M6, Crisper shifts on the A6

+ More Power & torque.

+ More Fun.

Did I mention no more warranty?

i would not tune unless you are adding decent mods.

not worth voiding the warranty, again with basic mods its not worth it.

What are your future plans?
The negative is you give up your power train warranty. Everything else is a postive (car runs better, more HP, more TQ, reduced TQ management, et).

I tuned my car right after purchasing it (L99 A6). Back in 2009 when I got my car, L99s really needed tuning (factor tune sucked). My car picked up around 30 ft lbs of TQ throughout most of the RPM range with the tune.

I also knew I was going to get more mods in the near future (intake, headers, etc).l

There really is two paths to take
1. Keep the car stock and enjoy it.
2. Mod it and have fun with the understanding you're giving up your powertrain warranty.

I've been quite lucky. My car is 3.5 years old (race it occasioanlly with bolt on mods) and I've had zero issues.

Yeah it sucks to live here sometimes. You know that 68 degrees with the cool ocean breeze can cause me to wear pants instead of shorts. Yeah, yeah I know Florida is warm but rain in the summer doesn't seem right. Ok, back to business. I do not want to spend thousands of dollars maybe hundreds. No supercharger or turbos for me. I have a K&N CAI that I installed. I've been debating on tune or headers next? And I have also sent a few messages to Tracy about there ported throttle body and the black ice-olator. So I guess I just wanted to hear others opinions on what steps to take? Especially about the tuning. And no I can't drive to Florida thank you all for the input I really appreciate it.

Gonna need it if you go the long tube header route to get rid of CEL.
